Klein Tools VDV026-813 RJ45 Ethernet Cable Tester and Crimper Kit, Pass-Thru Technology, Includes Connectors for Cat5e / CAT6 Data Applications, Pack of 50

Needed a new crimper after my old one started to miss pins. Thought I'd give the passthrough crimpers a go. They work really well, less trimming and more consistent terminations since you can push the pairs in to the depth you want. Only thing I wish it had is a standard crimp for those times you run out of the passthrough ends or are in a pinch and only have regular rj45 connectors. You can sort of crimp the non-passthroughs, but you have to really finesse it. The cable tester is nothing fancy, but it works as you'd expect. Better to have one than none at all.

Just the crimping tool at Home Depot alone is more expensive than the combo here. This was my first time making Ethernet cable and let me tell you the included pass through connectors make it certain you get the wire done correctly. I wish the included tester could test each wire in the Ethernet cable separately but the price would be more. The tester is one of the best I’ve used and buying this combo was a great purchase. Would absolutely recommend 👍🏽

Like: This uses Pass-thru wires, extend thru the RJ45 connector and get cut at crimp time. Much easier than the insert and pray style connectors. Like: Connectors are good quality. Dislike: Would have liked some rubber boots thrown into the kit. Dislike Seriously! : There is no cable wire stripper. Must purchase as a separate item. How costly to the CFO's bonus would it be to throw that into the kit. It's plastic and a blade. C'mon Klein. Would I buy again? Might check out some cheaper alternatives that give more in the kit, but I was very pleased with the connections and ability to test after making it. The tester is great.

Latch doesn't work. I modified mine so that their is a groove in which it can rest. Better now. Their are more comprehensive testers available for the same money. I like their hand tools so...

Got it for my son! And he loves it lol so that makes me happy!!

My son and I loved using this kit, as we are not IT and/or Low Voltage guys, but we where able to get our cameras up and running with this tester and replaced a damaged clip with the provided tools.

If you’re like me, when you were looking at ethernet tools, you saw the plethora of cheap tools and sets. I went with my guy and bought this more expensive set. I don’t regret it. The tool works great and it comes with a bag of RJ45 jacks, which I didn’t know it did. I wish the cable tester was different and could show the straight through vs crossover, but oh well. If you’re in the market for network tools, just buy these.

If you had purchased a kit for lan cable termination.... You may have found you went through many crimps before getting a successful calcination made. With this simple, Low profile set I made a test cable successfully on the first try .. The tester is intelligent. It does not tell you each pair. It does tell you; good/short/open... And does separate for remote testing in a small form factor. The crimper is small... And works Would buy this again

This kit is great for anyone who is starting out and needs to make some patch cables, or run some cables around the house. It comes with most of what you need, although it does not come with any strippers, which is a handy tool to have. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

El Sistema pass through es muy eficiente para que de queden bien los conectores instalados, pero con esta herramienta + conecto + tester Klein es casi garantía que salen bien y a la primera. en mi caso sin saber nada después de 5 practicas, ya me salen a al primera. Ya no necesite contratar a un proveedor.

Top quality crimper. This will last me a lifetime. I had a cheaper piece of junk rj45 crimper. That was a waste of time and was frustrating. This Klein makes short work once you have your wires setup correctly. There is a sticker on the crimper for that A or B wiring options.
