This metronome is a great budget friendly and accurate device.1. The bell settings 1, 2, 3 4 & 6 'ding' as expected2. The wind-up key turns very smoothly can be rotated until it stops with about 20-minutes of usage depending on the rate selected.3. I checked four settings with a stopwatch for accuracy and found that 208, 112 & 72 were very accurate. When I checked the lowest setting at 40 bpm, it was off by 1/2 to 1 bpm.4. The sliding mass is nice since it has notches that lock in place when sliding from once setting to the next (no guessing).5. The device casing is made of plastic but has a very convincing look of wood (I knew this before purchase)In the end, I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

I love it! For the price it is perfect. Yes it's plastic, but what do you expect for this price tag. It still looks so nice. I teach piano to young students and getting them to keep a steady beat is tough. I was using a metronome app on my phone, but they struggled to follow it. I think having the visual of the arm moving back and forth has helped so much. It also has a feature where you can set it to ring a bell for the 2/4, 4/4, and 6/8 times which is pretty cool. The one we had growing up did not do that.The only down side is the latch on the lid is pretty stubborn so you have to really push to close and open the latch on the cover. But it's not that big of a deal to me at least.

Wow, loud. Keeps good time, good action - 100% mechanical which is cool. Thought it was real wood (i am dumb). Still looks great though for plastic.
