The Ocean (Touch and Explore)

A great educational book about the ocean. It features about 6 different sea creatures, highlighting a few facts about each, talking about the body parts that make them good swimmers/jumpers/etc, and offering pop out and touch-and-feel elements so kids stay engaged. I like that it’s short and sweet because there is a lot to talk about on each page. It has been a favorite for my 4 and 2 year olds for months. They both pick it as their bedtime book multiple nights a week. If you have an ocean lover I highly recommend

Nice book for a toddler that is discovering animals of the sea.

This book is adorable! I was actually surprised how informative it is. My little guy is only 7 months right now, but I can't wait until he can start to understand what's going on in these pages. I primarily bought this for the touch and feel aspect, but am so happy with how this book will age with him. He likes touching the smooth whale and the slipper dolphin. The sandpaper shark is also fun. So far, all of the pages have stood up to him dropping it and drooling on it. As a once-budding marine biologist, books like this ignited my fire for marine knowledge, so I hope this helps my little guy do the same. So fun and cute, I would love to buy more books like this.

This is the most wonderful book I’ve seen. I love the octopus page. Okay mama is more excited about it then my baby. I played more with the octopus page then my baby. 😂 If you buy the book for a baby you need to know that they are able to rip the pages and the little flip pages inside the book. So you need to be careful if it’s important to you that the book stays intact. The pictures are beautiful and the kids can learn a lot with this book. The textures and materials are really nice. My baby girl loves to touch all the different materials.

Loved the touchable interactions a little one can have on each page, and that the text can be enjoyed by a little bit older child too. I got one book for my kids, and another one in the series as a gift for family.

Great book! Only not sturdy enough for 18 months old little hands (hens de 4 stars). It's very colorful, with a good variety of species and cool textures. My son loves it! Would recommend (if you don't mind the bending of the pages and tearing).

I love this book! The pictures are fantastic, some pages have flaps and there are touch and feel pages. I really like the fact that it is non-fiction too! I feel like that's a hard combination to find in children's books. This is a winner!

My 18 month old grandson loves to read. This new book has been one of his favorites. He loves to sit in a welcoming lap and say the name of each animal on the pages. I am so pleased that my gift was a big success!

These books are fantastic! We have both this one and the Dinosaurs Touch & Explore. My daughter (she's 1) loves feeling the different textures and lifting up the peek-a-boo flaps. The books have many different textures unlike some touch and feel books which have ones that are almost all alike. This book will also grow with your child because there are many different facts and stories about ocean creatures (or dinosaurs in the dinosaur book), so they can learn from the text in the book once they are old enough to read. Note: The sentences in the book/facts outlined are more like reference material than a story, but I think that will be more interesting for older kids anyways. We're very happy with this purchase. It's one our daughter will always pull from the shelf.

My 2 yr old son loves this book. Super cute and love all the little extras on each page - touch and feel/flaps and such. Great find!

Always loved the scientific approach of these books

Bought as my husband loves the ocean and wants to teach our daughter about it. It's such a lovely book. Beautiful pictures. Interesting facts and touchy feely bits too.
