Holmes Stamp & Sign Secure Marker Redacting Pen | Blackout Marker | Blacks Out Private Information (5 Markers)

Here’s a few clues to get the most out of these great redaction markers: 1) Read the directions on the pen! Be sure the ink is well shaken and the tip is well saturated before beginning use. 2) Do NOT press down hard when trying to redact!!! 3) Give the pen a little shake and press down on the tip for just a second between uses to insure fresh ink flow. 4) Let the ink do the work. A very light touch will provide sufficient ink to cover MOST writing. 5) Let the ink dry - gently blowing on the paper will hasten the process. 6) For the 3-5% of the time one coat doesn’t sufficiently cover, lightly redcoat and blow dry. I have redacted HUNDREDS of credit card numbers, CCV codes, and expiration dates in our ticket office with a single marker which has not yet run dry! The pens have far exceeded my expectations. I suspect people having problems have not followed the above tips. I learned through experience - you don’t have to learn the hard way!!! Do not let the tip run dry - you will destroy the felt tip! Just press down on the tip to get the ink flowing.

These are terrific pens for marking out all the information on my paperwork that I want to throw out. They work so well that I went back for more to get rid of some paper work that had Bern piling up, so quick and easy to use.

Terrific product. Works incredibly well. Only "issue" I have had is that after awhile the pen did not dispense enough ink to sufficiently redact the text. I think this was the result of the tip being clogged by the dust from the paper because once I scraped the tip with the blade from my scissors, it again worked as advertised. Also, I want to mention that they have great customer service. One of the five pens I ordered did not work properly. I contacted them and they immediately replaced it - no questions asked and did not ask me to return the defective pen. When these pens finally do wear out, I will definitely be ordering more.

The pen did not work. You could still see through the marking. Also most of the pens were dried up. Very disappointed and I missed the return window as I didn't know they were dried up until went to use them. I had ordered other items with it and used them first. Very disappointed and would not recommend these pens.

The pens are narrower then I'd like and they don't work on tape or plastic that is over labels and prescriptions, or raised letting. They work well on normal printing, bills, letters, etc. Just wish they were more wide.

Used for medicine bottles, they covered best usinf vertical lines and were very dark. Let dry for a few minutes .

It works well on all labels & cuts down shredding time.

Don't use it to blackout private information. It is just not good enough for that. No matter how hard I tried I could still see through (with effort though). However, that is not what I bought them for. They are great if you want to cross something out from a list with a thick black marker. Permanent markers are not good as they soak through the paper and you can see them on the other side. This one does not penetrate so you can cross items on each side of a page without disturbing the other side.
