LG OTW420B EZ Slim Wall Mount for 2016 OLED and Premium UHD LED TVs

This is an extremely well-engineered mount! I hemmed and hawed after reading the reviews - "The mount was flimsy", "Can't mount it exactly where you want", etc. Based upon the package I received, I have no concerns. In particular, I was surprised to find heavy-gauge 18" steel "stud spanners" for heavy-duty anchoring into a stud-backed drywall or plaster wall. These were not described in any of the online installation manuals I saw (and they are not shown in the product photos on this site). These are *beefy* - they ain't coming down if properly fastened using the included lag bolts. The mount itself is a piece of fabrication beauty - stout where it needs to be, light and thin where it doesn't. The cast articulating arms are nicely formed and thoughtfully engineered. This is *so much* better and more elegant than the typical big, black and ugly articulating mounts (which is getting moved into the guest bedroom, along with the Panny plasma display... :-) ...). The use of the mount plate fixed to the articulating arms and the simple "posts" screwed into the four VESA hard points is ingenious. The posts slip into keyhole slots on the fixed plate and are secured with simple wire bales and a couple of set screws. What this isn't: This is NOT a fully-articulated "pull it out from the wall a few feet and aim it into the kitchen" kind of mount! Even with the stud spanners, it's just a hair over 0.75" (3/4") deep (!!). The articulation allows you to pull it out about five inches from the wall for servicing cables and connections. It can be tilted side to side (horizontally up to 15 deg +/- 2) and up or down (vertically, for glare reduction, up to 12 deg +/- 2). With that said, the articulation is really there for "set it and forget it" movement - It's not really designed for swiveling the display, this way and that, once installed. What it is: It's a super-low profile mount that will securely and stylishly present your 2016 LG OLED curved or flat 55" or 65" display (or any display with a 300x200 or 400x200 VESA mount pattern where the VESA area under the mounting plate is relatively flat and does not need to be accessed or provide significant additional clearance for cables, etc.) Who wants a 3 - 5" deep over-engineered and ugly industrial mount hanging off of the wall when most of the screen is thinner than a pencil?! The mount plate sits low on the "fat" portion of the display - it really accentuates the airiness of the thinnest and most elegant portions of the screen. Take a look at the pictures I've posted for additional details. In the end, this was so much better for my situation and taste than I had expected based on a critical read of the reviews posted here. If you were worried about mounting flexibility, the stud spanners provide a lot more maneuvering room - it's NOT just the plate/articulating arm that's shown above! Also, I have absolutely no concerns about the stoutness or sturdiness of the product. It's burly where it counts.

Very slim, high quality mount. You get an idea about how close to the wall this mount holds your TV by looking at my included picture. This is made by LG specifically for their 2016 OLED HDTVs. I got the OLED65B6P, which is IMO the best of the bunch. Better price plus doesn't have 3D which I didn't want. Again, as you can see in the picture, the TV is very thin. And amazing picture and performance for streaming. Back to the mount... Once you get it installed, it pulls out and tilts up and down (not sideways). It is held onto the TV via 4 bolts that slide into place in slots that are narrower at the bottom and thus can't come out without lifting the TV upwards a couple of inches. The only complaint I have is that understanding how to install the mount is not simple. Fortunately, they include a paper template that you can use to drive the included screws into studs. The two metal bars are mounted solidly that way to the wall. The smaller screws are then used to attach the mount itself to the bars. Finally, the four bolts attached to the TV are inserted and slid down the slots in the mount. I know this sounds a bit complicated and it is, but if I can do it, you can too. Once done, this is a great mount for a great TV. LC has done a fantastic job with both. Enjoy!

Solid mount, easy to install, and very low profile. I needed a mount with the ability to lean forward, because my TV is above my fireplace and a little higher than I would like in an ideal circumstance. This fixed the issue. Two things to note (didnt think it was worth a star). First, the directions were garbage, but it really wasn't that complicated. 1. Attached the 2 metal brackets to your wall studs (there is a handy cardboard cutout). 2. Attach the mount to the brackets. 3. Screw the mounting spacers to back of your TV (it comes with a few sets, just make sure you check the manual for your model). 4. Align the spacers with the holes on the mounts and slide into place. We were able to install in about an hour, with just 2 of us. Probably could have done it faster, but I was trying to center in a tight space with mounted speakers so it took us a little longer. A third person to help us line everything up for the actual mounting of the TV would have been helpful, but it was not needed. Second, these OLEDS are really thin and the mount is a little stiff out of the gate. It loosens up a bit with use, but some of the initial adjustments made me a little timid as I was worried about bending the screen. Dont think that is really on the mount, it's just the nature of these new TVs. I found that if you grab the TV by the base (where there is a plastic back), you can kind of wiggle the TV back and forth to help make adjustments. Ultimately, I am very happy with this mount. If you have an LG OLED, I would need a pretty compelling reason to advise looking elsewhere for a mount.
