What I needed to do was stick a gadget with antennas on it (wifi network thing) to the back of my computer desk which is solid wood. I didn't want to drill holes, or attempt to run screws in. (It's hard wood. Not going to be easy. And the mark would be permanent.) And it needed to solid because this desk is on wheels and gets shifted frequently to do things on the back, or be moved to a different part of the room. Like closer to the window. Or whatever is best right now. And my cat sometimes walks across the desk, and she knocks things off if they are either loose or light. My housemate and I discussed options. It's his wifi gadget, and my desk, and neither of us wanted to mess up the desk. Then I remembered college. We had cement block walls in the dorm, and my room mate and I wanted to decorate the room so it wasn't so stark (or so beige). And came up with some burlap (blue) decorative window edgings. Which we stuck up with sticky squares. Enough squares, and even heavy burlap curtains stick to painted cement walls. (It took a lot of them.) Remembering that, I bought these. I read the directions, decided that the wifi thingie weighed maybe a half pound, factored in that this was NOT a wall that was absolutely flat NOR was it going to be sitting still in one place AND it was sometimes going to be where it'd be bumped into by either humans or the cat. I put on enough sticky squares for 2 lbs figuring that overkill might be necessary as I really don't want this thing dropped. (Expensive, and fragile.) It's been a month or so that it's been glued to the desk and it hasn't shifted even the slightest. These worked just perfectly for what I needed.
