Sorry to bust the bubble, but this is not leather.

Took me a minute to make sure I had everything the way I wanted it. No cutting or trimming was needed, although the boot is fairly long. Tempted to buy another to see if I can cut it down to prevent the bunching up which would help prevent wear. Overall I'm very pleased. The online videos are actually comedic and to be honest I did indeed laugh out loud at them. Remove the shift knob by removing the forward facing screw with a 5/32 Allen wrench. Gently pull the old boot to remove the white plastic bezel and old boot. The push button on the shift knob will retract on removal and will push back out when you replace the knob. I marked front and rear on the old boot just to remind me of orientation. Turn the boot inside out to remove the plastic caps, refit the new boot the same way. Push the smooth piece up inside leaving enough to fold over. Slide the other cap piece over that and then turn right side out. Use a 1/4 inch flat blade screwdriver to push the new boot end into the white plastic bezel. Make sure all is snug and replace in vehicle. I used a soft mallet to seat it in place. You might want to take a few pics of the cap removal to help with refit.

Looks pretty durable, we found a video on YouTube to reference when installing as it didn't come with instructions. Didn't have a bad smell or odor which is great!
