All metal case and with options on providing power, I use the terminal block. The wide range of input voltages it can handle is a plus for me. I am using this on a telescope mount and while not specifically rated for low temperatures I have used it many times below -10C. Has always been reliable and seems to be well built.

A major problem with many USB hubs is back feeding power. Where the USB hub ends up sending its 5v of power upstream to a PC, KVM or etc. The upstream devices don’t want and can be damaged by the backfeed. This is particularly true for KVMs, which frequently recommend not using USB Hubs. This USB hub has worked well for me powering power hungry devices and via a KVM. The devices (including a webcam, microphone), weren’t getting enough power through the KVM to work, but do work with this powered hub. I can also say I have been using the hub for months and I has not damaged my pricy KVM. If you are looking for a high quality USB hub, you have found one.

The Tripp Lite line of USB peripherals are super high quality and as far as I can tell they are all USB spec compliant (most hubs and cables are not). Highly recommended!

I took this guy apart thinking its just BS marketing and basic hub on the inside, I was completely wrong! its has very well designed power supply ( I'm suppling 24vDC to it) its got LARGE power filters and signal noise reduces. I use it on my 3d printers that generates a lot of electrical noise from the 24v mosfet controlled heater and 110V 700w also mosfet controlled that have USB CAN buss traveling next to them , this was a great pick, definitely recommend for industrial use.

Bought this specifically to connect to aftermarket car stereo head unit which doesn't provide much power to the USB port. The head unit isn't capable of charging my phone while using it for android auto. I figured a powered hub would be the solution, but this one doesn't help. Any phone I connect says "charging slowly" just like when it's connected directly to the head unit. Yes, the data connects ok, but the only reason i bought this hub was to provide more power to the phone, and this doesn't do it. I even tried exchanging for another, thinking i just got a bad one, but the replacement had the same problem.
