I was looking for a fun way to get myself and the family active in the evenings, and I stumbled upon gaming systems with dance mats. After reading through the specs and the reviews for many similar systems, I settled on the gray plastic version of the FWFX dance mats. I liked the variety of games provided with the system that would appeal to adults as well as children. The deciding factors for me were the price (this one was lower than most), the reviews (lots of positive reviews), and the game selection (this one included some retro games that I enjoyed in the 90s (like Mario!). We have been enjoying this system for several weeks. The system was easy to set up and easy to use after replacing the defective memory card (more info below). The dance game is fun. It is not dancing, but it is challenging game and a fun work out. There is a good music selection (with international options) and the company provides additional songs on their website. The system also includes yoga and aerobics. If you use the mat for aerobics and yoga, it will show calories burned but only if your steps match exactly with the computer. While the exercises are okay, I didn’t find the mat particularly useful for this. There is a small selection of camera games that seem to be geared toward younger kids. The wack a mole is a favorite for us. One thing I personally love about the system is the selection of retro games from the 80s and early 90s and the opportunity to play games that weren’t released in the US. The mats for these systems come in different materials. I would have preferred the mat to be a different material, foam or felt rather than plastic because the plastic gets so sweaty, but it is much easier to clean than the other materials. Something to keep in mind when choosing your system. Overall, I have been satisfied with the performance of the system. I considered rating as 4 star because the quality could use some improvement. The system arrived with a defective memory card, so it would not turn on. Also, one controller was missing the battery cover (annoying but it works fine.) The company sent me a replacement card immediately, and we got the system working. My 5 star rating is based on my overall satisfaction with the system and the support from the company. IMPORTANT. Because the memory cards can fail I recommend backing up the card to your computer hard drive or making a copy to another card in case it fails.

My wife and I own a Nintendo Wii, and while our 4-year-old son wants to play the games, the mechanics of the Wii is too complicated for him, i.e. requires too much physical coordination. I went looking for DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) pads, thinking it might be easier for a child to interact with a pad than waving a controller and came across this product. I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my son and he loves it! - The dancing game has children's songs and the pace is not too fast for a small child. - Apparently you can upload your own songs, which I have yet to try, but can already imagine being a hit with my son. He has particular songs that he likes to sing and dance to. - There are games that use a camera for augmented reality controls, e.g. whack-a-mole or fruit chopping, which is much easier than waving a controller like on the Wii. When my son is bored with the dancing, he switches to these augmented reality games. - The pads do not necessarily feel to be of the best quality / durability I have seen, but the sensitivity feels quite good. - There is enough variety of games to satisfy a small child. No need to buy a console and a bunch of separate games. This is enough entertainment all in one. - My son is very social and wants to play with someone else. This generally means my wife and I are participating. We are finally getting some exercise! It would be a bonus if we lose some weight! Overall, well worth the price.

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my 4 and 6 year old. Initially I was very impressed by the variety and number of games. Seemed like a great purchase. Three weeks after purchase, and maybe 10 total hours of playtime, it just stopped working. Its like no signal was being sent to the tv. Tried all the obvious trouble shooting methods (i.e. restart, change cables, change hdmi ports, etc...) No luck. Its being returned. Very disappointing.

It has some fun activities included. The dance is great, great response. Only thing I didn't like about the dance game is the back button is build so close that if you mistakenly press it it back out of the game. The mini games are great for kids. Takes some time to getting use to. Is it worth the money, maybe.

Super jeu. Mon fils adore. Pour ma part, le souci c'est que la notice est seulement en anglais. Comme je ne comprends pas l'anglais, on a dû le faire à l'aveugle.

Erstmal zu meinem Hauptproblem Punkt mit der Tanzmatte: Nach dem ich vor dem Kauf, in den Rezensionen von anderen Käufern gelesen habe, dass gerne mal die Speicherkarte im Gerät kaputt geht. War meine erste Handlung nach dem auspacken, die Mini SD-Karte auf den PC zu sichern. Das würde ich auch jeden Käufer wärmstens empfehlen. Alle Daten (Spiele Musikvideos usw.) sind auf der SD Karte. Wenn die nicht mehr geht, bringt der Rest leider nichts mehr. Bei mir kamen dann während dem Kopieren leider auch schon die ersten Fehlermeldungen das Daten defekt wären. Erst mal ignoriert und die Mini -SD Karte wieder ins Gerät gesteckt. Da alles noch einwandfrei funktioniert hat, auch erstmal nix dabei gedacht bis nach ca. 10min dann plötzlich gar nix mehr ging. Karte Defekt, auch am PC nicht mehr lesbar. Da ich ja eine 90% BackUp Kopie hatte, kurz eine eigene Mini SD Karte bespielt und eingesteckt. Ging alles bis auf ein paar Minispiele (das waren bei mir wohl die Fehlermeldungen am Anfang). Dann den Verkäufer hier über Amazon angeschrieben und höflich das Problem geschildert und nach wenigen Tagen Ersatz per Post bekommen. Vielen lieben Dank an dieser Stelle noch mal dafür. Wir hatten vorher schon mal eine günstigere 1Personen Tanzmatte von einem anderen Hersteller. Das ist ein unterschied wie Tag und Nacht. Die Matte wirkt deutlich wertiger und hatte auch keinen so unangenehmen Geruch wie die alte. Die Buttons funktionieren auf der gesamten Fläche des Feldes. Eben so wie man sich das wünscht :) Basis Station ist das Teil mit der Leuchtkugel drauf. Wenn die Station an ist und die Kugel drauf gesetzt wird leuchtet/blinkt sie wunderschön. Die Handkontroller wirken ein wenig wie von der Wii, sind aber von der Bedienung anders, Triggert einen ein wenig wenn man Jahrelang Wii gespielt hat :). Gibt auch ein paar Spiele die vom Charme sind wie die alten Wii Spiele. Generell kann man die Spiele mit der Tanzmatte oder mit den Kontrollern spielen wie es einem mehr Spaß macht, bei einem fortgeschrittenen Tanzmodus brauch man beides. Es gibt noch ein paar Kamera Spiele die auf Bewegungen im Raum reagieren wie die EyeToy Spiele auf der PS2 damals. Im wichtigsten Teil, dem Tanzspiel gibt es 2 Kategorien mit Musikvideo oder mit Animierten Videos. Und dann noch mal die Unterteilung nach Asia/Western/Kids. Für uns eine mehr wie ausreichende und schöne Auswahl an Songs. Wir haben die Tanzmatte jetzt seit einem Monat im Einsatz und bis auf das Problem am Anfang mit der SD-Karte keine Probleme damit. Die Kinder lieben sie und spielen sehr häufig damit. Kann sie zu 100% empfehlen. Ein Punkt noch falls ihr auch mal das Problem hattet das keine Videoquelle erkannt wird: Bei unserem etwas älterem Fernseher wird die Basisstation nur dann zu 100% als Videoquelle erkannt wenn ich erst den Fernseher anschalte und dann die Basisstation. Andersrum leider nicht zuverlässig. Könnte aber auch am Fernseher liegen.
