Q: Will battery from 5 year old Wrox leaf blower 40V work with this?

Five years old I don't think is a problem but my pruning chain saw and weed eater are both 20V. Love them both!

Worx offers a replacement chain: 5" PRUNING SAW CHAIN LOOP FOR WG324, Item WA0142. Although most of the times it is out of stock.

Q: Is this any better than those $40 mini chainsaws all over Amazon?

Indeed. The Worx hand held is a good one, Stihl makes one as well as do other major tool mfrs but the prices are significantly higher than the under $100 items you'll find in the Amazon links. My wife uses one of the $60 saws whereas I use one of the more expensive and heavy duty models. Either way, one of these belong in every weekend warrior's tool box.

That saw will not work with a pole with an attachment. There is no safe way to attach an extension pole.
