Grapheme Cards for Year 1: Phase 5 (Big Cat Phonics for Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised)

This is a full set of graphemes that are taught using the Little Wandle method of teaching phonics in primary schools. There are more cards than in the other sets available that are advertised for parents to use at home to assist with their child’s learning. This is the set that teachers use in school so if you want to help your child learn all of the graphemes this is the set for you. On the reverse of each card is a list of all the possible variations of pronunciation of each grapheme. Good clear printing of the letters. Not cheap, but sturdy cards that should last.

Ideal for the peactice at home

The cards are fully compliant with the Little Wandle phonics scheme and are very durable making them suitable for every day use. It would be nice if each pack contained at least two sets of cards

Hugely over priced. Cards are the same price as the “little wandle at home” cards with some extra cards in. Doesn’t justify the 3x price tag. These are aimed for use in schools and unfortunately the “little wandle” company is just using state schools as cash cows providing overpriced resources to make an unnatural amount of kids pass the year 1 phonics test. Imagine profiteering off kids and price gauging panicking parents. Awful company.

I think this is a bit misleading - it says card book, it’s only a pack of cards for the price. No instructions in the pack either. Very expensive.

The content was as expected however it would be lovely if the seller did not open the book prior to send the package. The box was broken and I don’t expect that from Amazon. ,

Not all the sounds from the scheme are included. Pretty useless, in all honesty. Might as well write the sounds myself.
