I honestly don't know if I'm using this thing 100% correctly. But I've used this to spool multiple reels and I have not had any issues with a rats nest on casting or any other usage really. The price was good and its pretty easy to use. The little elastic bands that go around the spool of line do a pretty great job at keeping tension. I would recommend for those that want easily spool their own reels without having to get too creative.

Works great

Overall I was happy with the line spooler as it is quick to set up, use, and put away. The adjustable tension straps are helpful and keep the line from getting tangled and making a mess. It comes with two elastic nylon tension straps which are decent quality and should last for quite a few years. The scissors work great and the sheath it comes in is a nice addition. The instructions are easy enough to read and follow but I could see how some could find them difficult so watching a YouTube video could work too. The quality of everything is good and I expect to get many years of use from it. I'm happy with this purchase and glad to add it to my fishing gear.

Awesome product. Makes spooling line super fast and easy

I really wanted to like this product. I'm a big fan of Kastking and still am. However I found this line spooler to be subpar. I did like the scissors as they were compact and very sharp. The spooler worked ok for my baitcaster but was a bit more problematic on my spinning reel. And I only have one baitcaster so most of my respooling would be on spinning reels. I had to watch the video about 3 times to fully understand how to use the spooler. But I found the tension band that goes around the spool to keep tension on the line to be a bit troublesome. No matter how tight or loose I made it, the tension band got in the way. Ultimately I chose to send it back.

This works. It does a good job of putting the line on your reel under tension. I recommend taking a damp cloth and putting it between your fingers and the line going on to the reel. It's a simple unit and it's pretty easy to use. I thought the price was very good.

Initially I bought the basic version but the box was damaged so as I was about to exchange it I noticed this version had the scissors. It was only a few dollars more so I decided to get this one instead. Looking for scissors that cut braid clean is about $10, so this worked out. The good: It is a pretty compact set and can fit in a pocket of my tackle box for easy storage. The scissors are pretty sharp and cut braid clean. It comes with two straps that you put around the spool and that helps manage the line and gives tension as you reel. Pretty decent and easy to use. The bad: it didn’t fit above the first guide on the rod (wasn’t tight enough for a good fit), but the way this goes on I really didn’t need the line to go through the first guide anyway, I just gave it a bit extra tension and the line goes through a built in guide so it all worked. Final thoughts: this is a nice addition to the tackle box and makes loading a reel pretty easy, and it comes with scissors which is a bonus.

Works pretty good. It’s cheaply made and feels easy to break if forced for any reason. Time will tell if its durability will last. Definitely beats having someone hold a bobber n line for ya. Used for Baitcaster and Spinning reels both worked as well.

Excelente el producto

I'll get this out of the way, the product works well and you can line up a spool anyplace anytime easily. It is however way over priced, it's $15 CDN maybe at best but a great idea and system, if it was $15 I'd probably buy a few just to have on hand on the boat and with my boys and at home. Now for the delivery, I am getting sick and tired of these terrible delivery guys delivering products that look like they were run over by a car. The product showed up in complete shambles like a car tire ran it over, I may still return this. I suspect someone ran it over when they spread out their deliveries at the local Walmart earlier today but this happens at least once a week now with products being delivered in such bad shape.
