2024 Carpuride W701 with Backup Camera, Carplay Android Auto Portable Car Stereo, 7 inch 1080P Touch Screen for Car, Bluetooth Hands-Free/Mirror Link/GPS/Siri/FM/AUX, Dashboard Mounted

My son just turned 16 and we acquired an older car that didn't have Carplay or a backup camera. I wanted both so he could have navigation and a better chance of not backing into something as a new driver. Ran across this product, and it fit the bill nicely. The Pontiac G8 had a useless little cubby space on top of the dashboard which was a great place to mount the new screen. We took the dash partway apart and drilled a hole to run the wires through. Through some custom wiring, all the connections are hidden, including power, and the only wiring you see is where the aux cable runs about 2 inches and plugs into the stereo with a right-angle connector. Virtually unnoticeable. This device supports Wireless Carplay so there is no need to run the USB connection to the phone, but you could. And we can still plug a phone into it directly with a non-hidden wire if necessary. I had three occasions to contact support over this purchase. They are very responsve, and not what you might expect from a Chinese company: 1) The manufacturer offers to change the bootup screen to anything you desire. You just have to send them the picture, and a quick little USB flash process updates it. I had them update it to a Pontiac logo that I created using some internet clip art. The next morning I had the file and instructions in my mailbox. 2) As we were finishing readying the car for my son, we noticed that audio was only coming out of the left channel via the aux out port. It worked fine with the FM transmitter, but you don't get as good of sound quality that way. I ran some tests to ensure it was actually the unit (tried a second cable, tried another device with the car's audio input, etc) and let support know. They first offered me a $50 refund to just use the FM transmitter. I said I would rather have a new unit as we wanted the better audio quality. They were fine with that, and said they would send me a new unit, no return necessary. I expected this to be shipped from China 4-6 weeks later, but to my great surprise, a couple days later I had a package from Amazon with a complete new kit. Amazing service. 3) So now I needed the Pontiac logo on the new unit. I emailed them to ask if I could just use the original file from the first unit. They instead sent me a new one. Not sure what the difference was, but it works fine. So... great product, and great service. So what's not to like? I only have a couple minor complaints: 1) The audio out cable they provide should have right angle connections on it. The power cord and camera cord already do, and they hide nicely behind the unit thanks to that. But the provided 1/8" audio cable is just a standard cable that would stick out and be ugly if you used it. I replaced it with a proper right-angle cable for about $10 and all is well. 2) The unit is just a little bit wobbly on the included bracket. In practice you don't really notice it, but if they could fix that, it would be a little bit better. Minor nitpick though. All and all, highly recommended. I hope it lasts the test of time.

Touch screen can be a little touchy and freezes at times. BUT for the money this is a great piece of equipment. back up camera works great. Easily paired with our iPhones. Made an older car have the qualities of a newer one. very happy with this purchase. Waited to review after using it for a bit

Great concept but it needs more development. Bought to upgrade the radio in my truck. Worked for the first 2 days then the problems started. First you can not watch any streaming service on this device. YouTube and whatever video to shoot from your phone. Sound quality is ok if you use the built in speakers but hooking it up through the aux made the sound worse. CarPlay menu screen stopped working after 2 days. The phone connection works but the screen stays black and you cannot navigate with it. Radio also required a software update as soon as I open the package. The concept of the whole radio is a great idea, but needs better software to make it 100% user-friendly.

This screen is a great upgrade for my 2009 Honda. I have zero idea how to hook up the backup camera, there were 0 instructions, and watching YouTube videos is making it look very hard so I’m going to hold off for now. One thing I didn’t think about is the glare during the day (shown in the top photo) but I can still see enough. Looks amazing at night. It powers up as soon as I get in the car and my phone instantly pairs. The screen is very responsive. Overall I’m very satisfied with this $200 upgrade!

My Carpuride unit worked exactly as described and provided everything I needed. The backup camera is clear and automatically comes on when in reverse. Wireless CarPlay connects automatically. The Carpuride is the perfect way to upgrade an older car that doesn't have these modern features. But, the touch screen on my unit suddenly stopped working. I emailed the company and they tried to correct the problem. When that didn't work they replaced my unit! Not only that, but I received the new unit in just a few days. Excellent communication with their support team and my replacement unit is working just fine. Would definitely recommend this product!

I bought this to try but ended up returning it. Everything worked as advertised, however, if you’re not a car person I wouldn’t recommend trying to install the back up camera yourself. There are no directions and upon watching a YouTube tutorial, I realized this required way more tools and experience than I had. The unit requires a lot of cables in your car that tended to look messy, which was another turn-off for me. If the back up camera had worked for me, that would have been a third cable that I’d be trying to manage in the front of my car. The sound quality is only good if you connect it to your car speakers through the aux. When I first hooked it up I was confused because the sound was playing both through my speakers and the device, but there’s a setting on the device to turn off its speaker. For $700 I had a CarPlay unit installed in my car with a backup camera and that’s what I would recommend to anyone who plans on keeping their car for the foreseeable future. So yes, technically the product is good and works, but it could be a hassle to install (plus more expensive if you pay someone to install the camera) and not a long-term solution.

i have had this for ten months and it has worked great until this past week, when the connection was going in and out and the power cord stopped working. i contacted customer support about these issues and after talking about the situation, they sent me a whole new system to replace mine!! the customer service is wonderful and i can’t recommend enough

My 08 Acura is showing its age and the Bluetooth module failed a long time ago. This unit brought the car into the current generation. Very easy to setup on my iPhone 12. Wireless connectivity is a huge plus. Sound quality through the aux input is excellent. The various mounting options are all first rate. Haven’t tested the rear camera yet. Highly recommended.

I recently installed the latest firmware/software update on my Carpuride unit, and I’m extremely pleased with the results. Before the update, my iPhone 17 Pro would frequently disconnect from CarPlay, which was my main issue. Since updating, the connection has been completely stable. The dual Bluetooth functionality is fantastic—being able to use my car’s built-in stereo and steering wheel controls with no noticeable lag feels amazing. I’ve been using the updated unit for about two weeks now, and it’s been flawless. The only minor hiccup was one brief screen drop early on, which a quick reboot fixed, and it hasn’t happened again. Carpuride’s support team was incredibly responsive and made the firmware update process easy with clear instructions and quick replies. Overall, I’m very happy with both the product and the support, and I highly recommend it as a reliable CarPlay solution.

Really overpriced Bluetooth connection. That’s all it is. And it’s terrible! When you sync your phone it works for a while, then it says it doesn’t recognize your device. Start sync all over again. The worst is that it doesn’t turn off. You hit the button to turn it off and the screen goes black but it’s still connected to your phone and it still plays music on your stereo! I have to unplug the power and the Auxiliary connection every time I want it to be off. Really bad! Definitely not worth over $300 dollars!

It works but it's not the easiest thing to set up and I can't get it to play through my truck Speakers sometime but I will figure it out eventually.

My car is an older model and i wanted a screen for bluetooth music, phone, maps and the reverse camera. Very easy to install even when tapping i to the reverse break light wires.
