PURCHASE DATE: 30MAY22 PRICE PAID: $169 PRICE + TAX: $182.52 REVIEW DATE: 10JUN22 Recently, I purchased an IPhone 13 Pro and wanted a gimbal that would not be super expensive and I ran into this one. I have a Spigen slim case on my IPhone and it fits perfectly snug in the gimbal clamp. The grip is grippy and nice to hold which allows easy button manipulation. The bottom having the stand attachment is nice but also has a slot for a wrist holder if needed. Now that I have used it and will be keeping it, I will be ordering the magnet dimmable light attachment. I saw it offered online and after some videos it makes sense to have it. Once you figure out the controls and features it is smooth and steady. I am very pleased with it and the way it smoothly transitions while you move. IPhone portrait mode and this device is awesome. Two thumbs up! I will edit this review with updated photos/videos later. PLEASE NOTE: I do these reviews to help people out. Most features seem to work as expected. By spending an hour or so of testing, it's easy enough to figure out the app settings to smooth out the gimbal's response to your movements. However, I can't find any way in either of the company's apps to change the direction of the focus knob. The way it works out of the box is that the focus moves closer to the camera as the knob moves in the direction away from the camera. This is too basic a function to work backwards. It's so counter intuitive that I can't wrap my head around adjusting focus on the fly.

I have some familiarity with gimbals so there wasn't too much of a learning curve for me. I had this unit balanced and working in about 10 minutes. The app could be a lot better but it's workable and you don't necessarily need the software for stabilization. You do need the software for certain features such as tracking, which I was actually blown away by. I drew a box around my son and the gimbal followed his every movement. It worked great and the unit was very steady. I'm using an apple 13 pro max so it's a big boy and this gimbal handles it well. Spend some time getting your balance perfect and this gimbal will work great. I will update the this review the more I use it but these are my initial thoughts.

Let me mention that I am computer scientist, (I spent dozen of hours reading manual from manufacturer website! watching multiple videos!) first day I tried to charge it using supported by the manufacturer wire! many different Chargers! unfortunately it won't charge, after several hours of charging it was still showing that the battery is dead!!! I left it for overnight for charging, somehow next morning it was charged. I did download the app for iPhone 13 Pro Max. According to manufacturer suggestions I did download new software as the instruction says I pressed the power button for 3 seconds unfortunately sometimes it works sometimes not!!! after I open up I can see gimbal on my iPhone screen and all of the options I cannot do anything from gimbal bathrooms I have to manually touch the screen to make some changes!! most of their functions do not work according to instruction I can not do anything on my iPhone screen via the Gimbal!! the item is extremely complicated and it behaves randomly. I have a few the Gimbals older generation they work perfect! don't waste your money! and your time! it won't work like the manual and videos say. very often it turns of itself also sometimes is shaking like crazy that I was afraid that's my Smartphone will just go away, in summary I wanted to upgrade to little more expensive with match more futures, unfortunately that was my mistake, this item is cheap fake China product!!!!!!!!!! don't spend waste your money your time and your nerves. of course I try to call customer service in u.s. I got the message that the number doesn't exist!!! customer service doesn't exist as well !!!there is no support except few videos on YouTube, which do not explain problems which I experienced. good luck. Sono un vecchio consumatore di gimbal , è dal 2016 che uso lo stabilizzatore (vecchio modello di Zhiyun smooth c) per registrare i video ,c’è tanta differenza rispetto i video registrati senza, il video è molto più stabile e mi sono trovato sempre bene . Quest’anno ho deciso di cambiare modello perché lo smooth c non è molto stabilire con l’ IPhone 12 pro max, tanti gimbal non riescono a stabilizzare un telefono di queste dimensioni. Quando uso la lente ultra-grandangolare quasi tutti i gimbal riprendono la loro assi, invece smooth 5 non lo fa. Ci sono anche molte altre funzioni professionali che fanno semplificare le registrazione.
