Bought as a Christmas gift the kids love them.

Although Polly isn't quite what the used to be in their hay day. They're still good fun with lots more things inside them!

As I was born in 1990 I don't think ill ever be able to fully give any "new" Polly pockets" a full 5 start rating as they will never be as good as the originals. I bought this for my 5 year old daughter and she loves it and spends hours playing with it. its also very compact when not playing with it which makes it easy to store away. The only issue (besides not living up to the classic Polly) is that the lid keeps fallen off and its a pain having to keep clicking it back on to be honest.

It's a good set . And it feels like you get a lot for your money actually. The way it opens out is enjoyable.

This arrives in a brightly coloured box measuring approx 23cm x just over 15cm x 13.5cm with a 5cm upstand at the back of the box which could be folded down to wrap. With the upstand folded down it would be easy to wrap & make a great gift for a Polly fan who loves disco or roller skating. If you have the Double Space compact already it is a little larger than that, but very similar in the way it folds out. Inside the box, the playset is open showing you one half of the orb with the included characters before you open it as there are large display windows - I think it's Lila & Shani in this set. They both come with skates on & look really cute. Once you have taken it out of the box it can be closed into a flat bottomed orb shape & it can be carried like a small handbag using the attached cord. You can also open it up & fold it out to create 2 small play areas with backdrops. On one side you have a roller disco turning floor with a silver disco ball in the centre. There is a set of stairs that leads up to a flip down area with space underneath to add the dj booth (which has a dial you can turn so a doll put behind it moves back & forth to the disco music (music not supplied, you need to add your own). On the other half you have a small bowling alley & a flip over pool table/air hockey table. It has a fold down balcony area in the lid with a table & chairs so you can sit & eat the popcorn you can watch jumping about (by moving the lever) in the popcorn machine below beside the concession stand. As usual there are plenty of pegs all over the set so you can attach or stand the figures on one spot & so on. These little sets have a lot of play value built into them - all the surfaces are full of moulded details which enhance play & the accessories are interchangeable with any other Polly Pockets you might already have. This set also looks lovely displayed when it's not being played with & as all the bits will fit inside it when closed, it's highly portable so a really good toy to take with you on holidays or long trips.
