I really like K and N filters. This one has a nut on the bottom to make removable easy and to me they are a great all around filters. I only use K and N filters on my vehicles.

K&N makes high quality filters you pay a little bit more but it's more than worth the money. It also has a nut welded to the bottom of the filter so you don't have to get handled using a conventional oil filter straps or cup wrench to remove the oil filter. It's also a very handy add on for oil filters that are in a tight place with limited room to use conventional oil filter wrenches

I love the style of oil filter as it has the nut attached and there is no need for any special oil filter wrench. They are simple to use in quick. They do cost more money, but I’m willing to pay the extra cost for the convenience and I highly recommend this filter.

I have ran K&N filters for many years now in a multitude of vehicles. I've never had some of the problems that people have complained about (oil leaking out of the top nut, etc.). What I have noticed is that this filter was made in Korea. Usually I get the "Made In Mexico" or whatever country it was created in, this one happened to be Korea. I don't know if I am disappointed or not though. I mean a K&N filter is a K&N filter, but I always thought this was an American made product. On the up side, these filters were actually $2.50 cheaper through here (Prime) than at my big box auto parts store. I like the 1-inch end nut on the filter. It makes removing the filter simple and easy. The filter itself has approximately 52 pleats of media inside with metal end caps on either end. I personally would like to see about 60 or more pleats in there, but the media is a little thicker than most of the other filters, so I guess that might make up for the lack of pleats. Bottom line is this, K&N filters work. I've put them on many cars, thousands of people put them on their cars as well. Yeah it's a bit pricey, however, the convenience of the top nut? INVALUABLE.

The 1inch nut welded on the end is the main reason I bought this. I found recently that this oil filter has less restriction to the flow of oil than others. Made in America seals the deal. My Cadillac Northstar engine deserves the best.
