This little 8" sub can hammer out the beats. Absolutely amazing unit for the size and price. It fit right into the oem location in my 2008 mdx and hammers the beats out for some great sound quality and bass drops. I've played an array of music and even video on it and it's never sounded scratchy or strained when performing. Only thing I would have like to see is an actual cross speaker cover for protection as I removed the grille so I could admire the carbon weave look. But thats more a me problem than the actual product.

--2011 Ford Escape-- First off, my setup included: Kenwood Excelon 890HD Planet Audio AC1800.5 MOSFET Five-Channel Power Amplifier, Raptor (1 Farad) Capacitor This sub (To replace the OEM woofer) Front Speaker: Infinity Reference 6830cs (Component system - tweeters installed at top corners of door, closest to the front windshield) Rear Speakers: Infinity Reference 6832cf 4Guage Wiring kit (WIRING DIAGRAM: battery>fuse>CAP 12v> AMP 12v --Cap and Amp individually grounded) For those of you relenting because of only 3 reviews, BUY THIS WOOFER. I would normally never buy a shallow-mount 8, but my escape has the stock woofer and its pretty garbage (along with all the other speakers). I replaced the speakers with nice infinity's but the woofer had to go. The 200W OEM amp on the escape was garbage, so i had to replace. Glad i did. Woofer fit perfectly in the OEM housing. As per the sound, CRISP. This woofer can be deep and loud for your bass-y songs and super crisp at the same time. I was quite surprised. The woofer just sounds phenomenal. The long notes resonate beautifully and cut exactly when it's supposed to (no sloppy notes). I highly recommend

Used this for a small footwell enclosure in my NSX. With 150wrms it plays nicely, gets lower than I'd expect, and can hang with some of the more bass heavy songs I listen to. For rock it's great; accurate and punchy. Slim profile is nice.. excursion is a little higher than the rubber ring around it, so be careful if you're making a grill, give it enough room to move. No complains with the Excelon slim, in 8", 10" or 12", all have performed wonderfully.
