A comfortable shoe for city walking
I have been limited to walking around my neighborhood for the last six months because of limitations on running after shoulder repair surgery. I was wearing various high quality running shoes for my walks but my legs didn't do well. So, there is a difference between walking and running. I wanted a comfortable "hiking" shoe that also didn't look like I just came off the trail. The Oboz shoe seemed to fit the bill. I have never worn any hiking shoe other than Merrell but my wife always raved about her Oboz so I thought I would try them. I have been delighted with the shoe so far and have been walking 3-5 miles per day for the last couple of months. The quality seems good and the shoes were comfortable from day one. The 11.5W (my regular size) fits perfectly. I don't know long term how they will fare with, but there is really nothing negative to say at this point. I find it interesting in the reviews that many noticed that the tongue slips to the outside of the foot, because I have been noticing the same. I am considering buying a second pair in a different color as a hedge against the company deciding to update the shoe, as companies seem to do on a regular basis, often not for the better. Anyway, I recommend this shoe, at least for walking around city streets and sidewalks.

They lasted a VERY VERY VERY LONG time!
I wanted to give these shoes a fair review now that I am about to throw them away and move on to a new pair of the same shoe. First off, I gave these shoes a 5 star, but they are NOT perfect shoes. But the pros seriously outweigh the cons. and the cons are an easy fix. The pictures are of the shoes after they are basically worn out. I can get a few more months out of them but the comfort is gone and they are falling apart. I wore these shoes 5 to 6 days a week 10 hours a day on a construction job site since the day I bought them. I have been wearing them for exactly 3 years!! I have always worn DC skate shoes or other work tennis shoes like Merrill and Chinook. I have never had a shoe last more than 1 year until I bought these Oboz. The Pros: * Lasted 3 years * Comfortable right out of the box * True to size * Super durable rubber sole * A nice looking, stylish, sleek shoe The Cons: * The heels on the inside of the shoes started wearing out within 8 to 10 months. You can see how blown out they are in the picture. the composite heel cap started breaking down and chipping away after about 1 1/2 years. I wore them with blown out heels for the past 1 1/2 years with little issues. THE FIX: Self adhesive heel protectors will stop the wear on the heel fabric of the inside of the shoe, but does not sacrifice comfort. * Arch support was a little high. THE FIX: Replaced insoles with Timberland anti fatigue insoles. * The tongue falls to the outside of the shoe. THE FIX: A lot of shoes do this, I drill a small hole in the tongue and run a small zip tie thru the tongue and the lace hole to keep the tongue from slipping

I buy these again and again.
These look great, even for a date night, but are comfortable and functional for rougher outings out hiking. When I buy a fresh pair they stay clean as long as possible for work and evenings out on the town, while my previous pair moves into hiking duty. They hold up incredibly well, and I only buy a new pair about once a year.

Great looking shoe - unfortunately hurts top of my foot
I was excited to get these shoes as I am a fan of Oboz and really wanted to like them. I love the clean monotone casual sneaker look of these shoes. They go well with casual outfits and was hoping they would fit the bill for all-day wear with ability to hit some easier hikes and general outdoors wear. My feet are ~13.5, medium width. In most shoe brands 14M fits best. Knowing Oboz tends to run a bit small, I went with size 14 and they fit nicely. I would think if you have a true size 14 foot, these may be too small. Compared to their heavier hikers, like Bridgers, they are a bit wider in across the toe box, which is nice. The overall fit is a bit more relaxed than other Oboz I've tried but still was snug enough in the heel to prevent slipping. The Oboz insoles are great too. I need an insole with good arch support and ankle stabilization, and Oboz is one of very few brands I don't have to replace the insole in, saving at least $30. The heel is a little lower than other hiking shoes, but is still high enough to provide good support. The laces felt strong and solid and were easy to adjust. The tread pattern seemed like it would provide excellent grip, however, I did not get a chance to test that out. The problem I had is the seam where the tongue attaches to the vamp was rather prominent and with every step pushed down onto my toes. Very annoying. I don't know if I just got a bad pair or if this is a problem with the design, or if the design is just a bad match for my feet, but sadly, these had to go back. Still, kudos to Oboz for making an excellent looking casual hiker.

Best shoes ever
These are the most comfortable shoes I ever had. After my first pair, I order another two to make sure I can have them for a long time!

Won’t last
I do not recommend this shoe. I have been wearing similar type shoes my whole life from Keen to Merrell, and now to Oboz, and this is the worst shoe I have had. The heel wall structure on the inside, as many have noted here, falls apart within weeks. It’s a thick paper like substance and it begins to crumble with use within the first few weeks. It creates a lot of discomfort and you will forever find little pieces of it in your shoe every time you wear them until the heel structure just completely dissolves. The toe cap on this shoe will also begin to unglue and peel in a short amount of time. The tread wears quick and is a little thing from the start. The overall look of the shoe is very cool, but they need to make some big changes to this product. I would advise staying away from this product.

The shoes tore in the most unexpected place three months later. The length of the laces is such that you can weave fishing nets. A very stupid shoe model, but very comfortable.
