Good Product! 👍
Hello everybody, I bought this product for my furniture factory in Colombia S.A., it work's very good and the results of the joints are very accurate, personally I recommend this product to anyone that is interested in buying it, also the delivery time was short.

Don't know what all the complaints are about
Ok, so used this for the first time today, doweling together cabinet door frames. Decided to give it a try after reading tons of not so great reviews, and videos; seems there are alot of Festool guys out there. For a difference of $800 I'm happy to say I like it. The stiff spring isn't a issue (maybe they corrected that?) The 'fat' alignment marks aren't great but are work able. The fence not 90 degrees? mine is... I think this is one of those tools where you need to get familiar with in order to get good results. Watch the videos, learn what to look for and correct and get to joining wood! Hope this review helps, as I'm a true believer in reading these. The reason for four instead of five stars is the alingment marks. Not a deal breaker, but could have been much crisper from the factory....

A MUST NOT BUY EVER, TOOL . . . .
I wish on many levels I could give this tool a no star rating. The accuracy of this tool is so horrible I actually feel violated that any company would sell a tool that clearly does not live up to its intended and stated purpose. First, the really ugly, after spending 2 days trying on my first use to dial this unit in so it will actually work on flat work as well as box assembly I realize, the machine is beyond all hope. Add to this, that once you go to their website they clearly state that if you do not register the product within 30 days of purchase (i purchased this last year and the paperwork did not make that clear) you would only have a 30 day warranty, if you register it, you have a 3 year warranty, Sorry, but I think that is both shady and criminal. As a disabled veteran I am not by any means wealthy, so having a company tell me that their 3 year warranty is only contingent upon registering the product will now cause me to leave this review everywhere I can. The real ugly, the drill bits are in MM and the accuracy is not actually adjustable. The unit will dive into hard woods and softwood leaving your flat work of by 3-6 degrees and the joint will be open. Want to use this on a 90, say on a box . . . eeehhhhh . . . . . wont line up square at all, not even close. Bottom line, I am more disappointed and discouraged over how I am not left with a almost new tool that legally the warranty should cover repair or adjustment but because they hide the fact the 3 year satisfaction warranty is only good if you register within 30 days tells me they want you as a ONE TIME customer as their product is pretty much garbage. DO NOT BUY THIS if you have need for a tool that will allow you dowel up face frames, make boxes or in general, use dowels for strength and alignment. It is as accurate as a block of jello . . . . save yourself from my experience and get a Festool . . . or ANYTHING else but this Triton . .

Improved, but still not worth buying
After a few more recent reviews suggested that Triton had fixed many of the underlying problems with this unit I decided to roll the dice in order one. It is clearly improved from previous generations. The indents on the face now are flush, the springs are only a little bit stiff, and I have measured the angles on the top fence to be quite accurate. BUT - The drill bits are still not square with the top fence, and it's very clear why. For whatever reason Triton has opted to not make any adjustability in the alignment of the bits and the top fence which must be absolutely parallel to one another. Others have observed this with previous units and that issue persists with this more recent unit. While this issue doesn't make the unit unusable it does mean that every set of holes you drill must match exactly the set that you put opposing it. Not just in depth and location, but how the tool is aligned when those holes are cut. Because they will not be perfectly straight. One hole is always going to be slightly below the other one. That misalignment has to match otherwise it will pull your whole piece out of alignment. I thought it was worth the gamble based upon more recent reviews but I was wrong. I would not recommend this unit.

Suprised at the negative reviews
I've only had this a short time and I may add more after I've used it more and can speak to durability. But for now I'm wondering if perhaps Triton has been listening and perhaps corrected some of the things people have noted in their reviews. The only thing I've done is polish the raceways a bit and greased them with some very heavy grease. The spring tension that controls travel is not that heavy and seems appropriate. People had been complaining that the fence isn't 90 degrees, but that isn't the case on mine. In a youtube video, someone had noted the two rubber "cushions" which sit proud of the face were the culprit so people were adding additional spacers to compensate. However it appears that Triton listened and the cushions are now springloaded and "give" so that the fence is 90 degrees. Other people complained that the two dowel holes aren't parallel with one and other. If are aware of this potential problem, and take care during setup, this problem can be avoided. Look, this isn't a Festool domino --full stop. But neither does this tool cost $1000-$1500. I own 3 other Festool tools--they are BMWs when compared against this tool. But this tool gets you where you need to go if you are aware of its limitations.

I was able to quickly align and put together a project (a table) with this tool. For the price point, it is alright. I was able to use this tool for 18 hours, before it was stolen (along with all my other tools). So I may have a lack of long term use, that might change my view of it.
