I have acquired a 2005 john deere riding mower with a 20 hp intek engine that the original fuel pump was missing . would this be the correct oem part?

I don't believe the question can be answered with certainty without the model number of the engine. The serial number would also be helpful. Please upload a photo of the required information.

These little Fule Pumps work off the pulse of the engine.. They have 3 lines.. One is from the tank. One is TO the carburator.. One attaches to the engine pulse system. Some engines use a line off the valve cover ( over head valves) some engines use an attachment to the Oil Fill tube (the long ones)...Ther is NOTHING magice here..Almost any small engine with a carb can be made to work with a fuel pump..Either we get fuel to the carb by having a tank above the carb and let it flow freely by gravity or we have a tank below the carb and we pump fuel to the engine..I am not sure what you can do but I am sure I could rige a pulse line from any small engine and make this work...Even a Sthil Chain saw has an impulse line that pumps gas to feed the engine.. That's why a chain saw can run in almost any position..Even an electric fuel pump (as long as it's to so strong that if blows past the float needle valve shut off) can be made work by someone that knows how..I'm thinking one any small engine that has a single cylinder, small carb I'd be able to drill a oil fill tube as long as it's long enough to be above the oil and put some sort of pulse line on the motor..Maybe JB weld? Or if it's over head valves make a pulse line off the valve cover....There's a way where ther's a will.. back in 1978 I installed a 4 cylinger Ford Pinto engine in a VW bus.. 100,000 miles late I gave it away and the guy drove off.. It had recently had new inserts and rings and did not burn oil..Just believe in yourself.. You can't make a mistake you can't fix and learn from..be blessed,.
