EWAY Retention Adapter for Jeep Wrangler JL JLU/Dodge Ram 2018 2019 2020 Retain OEM Factory Backup Reverse Camera to New Aftermarket Car Stereo Display/Navigation Radio Harness Interface

Used this when replacing the stock stereo in my 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. While it technically works, the image is blurry, color is distorted and the screen flickers. While the instructions were somewhere between basic and non-existent, I do have it connected and configured for AHD, including the proper format and refresh rate within the new head unit itself.So sure, I can see an image from my OEM backup camera and it's better than nothing, but the quality is NOT worth the price - not even close.

Took a chance on this adapter since inexpensive compared to other options and had some positive and negative reviews. Based on forums I researched online, I assumed I only needed to power via the ACC and GND wires, but camera video failed to output in either mode. After troubleshooting with EWAY support, I determined that all of the wires had to be connected (ACC for voltage to video, GND for ground, B+ for background battery-supplied power to the board, and ILL for illumination on the radio to get any image to appear). After this and using the HD720p mode with the optional wire cut, I had my factory camera back and at its original video quality! Overall, this is a good adapter for Android headunits that didn't come with it built in, but I wish the instructions were more descriptive. Customer support is very helpful though.

This thing only worked for about two days. I don’t recommend buying it at all.
