GORE WEAR Men's Phantom Giacca Uomo Jacket

If you are looking for a breathable, wind proof winter jacket then this will likely do the job. I’ve worn mine with a couple of light layers beneath in zero temperature rides and been very comfortable. Like most winter rides you start off cold and there’s always the temptation to over layer which results in over heating once you get going. With this jacket you’ll stay lovely and dry as it’s fully breathable. I haven’t worn it in heavy rain and doubt it’s waterproof. I pulled on a waterproof jacket to stay dry and found I soon got hot and sweaty which demonstrates how breathable the jacket is without an over layer. The sleeves do zip off to create a gillet but haven’t worn it as yet. Quite fiddly to zip back in again but like the jacket itself the material and zips are excellent quality. I bought the black and grey jacket but wished id gone for hi viz as I’m only likely to wear it in winter and I’ve found myself wearing a viz gillet over the top which defeats the benefits of gore ware. In terms of size & fit I’m 5’10 and 13 stone with a reasonably long body and the XXL is a good fit. It’s not a tight racing fit bit neither is it baggy. If I was going for a racing fit I’d go for XL but if you want to be able to layer up beneath for winter rides then XXL is spot on. It’s not cheap but it’s great quality and it’ll likely last me a good few winters.

This jacket was/is my winter outer top that is all year round useable. I'm quite a cold loving person so this and maybe a thermal jersey in sub zero temperatures were plenty for winter and spring and autumn also are catered for as a jersey with removeable sleeves if too warm. It fits too! It keeps the wind out and keeps you dry in most but the worst downpours

Good quality and appearance. Had to go up 2 sizes though to get a comfortable fit. Well worth the money however

Bought this for my son because I love mine so much. Very soft, last for years, breath incredibly well and keep you dry in light rain for a while, so more comfortable in light rain than a hardshell.

Great windstopper with removable sleeves for when the day warms up! I often unzip sleeves slightly to act as pit zips. Rear is thin allowing heat to escape and easy to use zip goes right up high keeping the neck warm. Repels water quite well but not sure if will continue for years.

Good quality item for the spring minths

I normally wear a medium, but the XL size fitted me perfectly! It's a lovely jacket, very smooth and comfortable and I love the zip off sleeves, although zipping them on or off will take a few minutes

Good product, great quality

This is a comfy and warm cycling jacket and it performed well recently in a light rain. It provides a good wind barrier. It does the job.

Habe die Jacke in mehreren Farben seid nunmehr 2 Jahren im Einsatz. Hatte bereits das Vorläufer Modell und kann gut vergleichen. Das aktuelle Modell ist etwas enger geschnitten und somit (für meinen Fall, 1,94m, 78 kg) sehr angenehm zu tragen in der Größe L. Jacke ist winddicht und atmungsaktiv. Highlight finde allerdings die entfernbaren Ärmel. Trage die Jacke eigentlich das ganze Jahr, außer bei Frost. Selbst im Sommer durch die Ärmel als Trikot nicht zu warm. Die Ärmel sind gut in den Rückentaschen zu verstauen. Durch den engeren Schnitt, nun auch auf dem Rennrad gut zu tragen. Ansonsten hauptsächlich beim graveln. Qualität und Haltbarkeit sind super. Teilweise recht große Preisschwankungen.

Excellente veste qui, avec ses manches détachables, me donne pas mal de souplesse dans mes sorties vélo quand les températures oscillent entre 12 et 22°. Le matin en partant je ferme tout, et au fur et à mesure que la température augmente j'enlève les manches et ouvre la veste quand il fait trop chaud. Elle coupe bien du vent, je ne la regrette pas lors des descentes de col ! Pas testé l'étanchéité, ce n'était pas dans mes critères d'achat, mais en tout cas elle évacue bien la transpiration. Pour la taille : je mesure 1,80 et pèse 85kgs (avec un petit ventre qui trahit mon amour de la bière) j'ai pris XL pour être à l'aise avec un vêtement dessous l'hiver. Je suis très à l'aise dedans, mais j'aimais les vêtements près du corps L aurait été un meilleur choix
