Beer Dry Hopper Filter,300 Micron Filter Stainless Steel Mesh Cornelius Keg for Home Beer Brewing Kettle (2.8 x 11.8 inch)

I purchased this to use in a low country boil. The crab boil bags have changed and for some reason the food is not as flavorful since they went to plastic bags. I just empty the bags inside of this and it seems to season it a little more.

These mesh hoppers hold a little approximately 10 to 11 ounces of medium ground coffee grounds. Since I use Kirkland brand medium roast coffee that comes in 40 ounce bags to make 5 gallons of nitro infused cold brew coffee I ordered four of these. I want to move away from mesh bags when making cold brew coffee and I wanted to start making my cold brew directly in a Cornelius keg and then do a keg to keg transfer to minimize oxidation of the coffee. I initially ordered one of these to see how much coffee would fit in one. I will update this review with any updates in how it goes.

Better for leaf hops or clipping on the side of a pot during the boil but be warned the mesh will clog pretty easily with pellet hops. I also suggest using a string on the cap to hold it upright and wrap it around the bottom as it may come open during a dry hoping if you use large amounts of hops. As the hops expand they will pop the lid off since it just pushes on the top without any threads or anything to clip it closed. It's a bit flimsy so be careful when cleaning it even a strong jet of water can bend the mesh out of shape.

Perfect for the times I use it for dry hopping or adding whisky barrel chips to the fermenter. As a home brewer, I used to use muslin bags to add dry hops or adjuncts to my fermenter. This makes it so much easier to add them and to reuse time and time again. Easy to clean and sanitize. My only complaint is that it didn’t come with a stainless steel chain to affix to the top of it to aid in the retrieval of it at the end of the dry hopping process.

Bought these in May 2021, and liked them so much I bought more in August. Every one of the three I bought in May split along the threads on the neck of the mesh base after their second use, making it nearly impossible to place/replace the caps. The units I bought in August 2021 are all fine. Clearly this company had a quality issue and fixed it, my order was closed to returns 30 days after I bought these puppies. This is $50 in merchandise I cannot return or replace. Doesn't seem fair. My advice: if you buy these, use them a few times quickly and see what happens then return them if they start to misshape. They start to lose their round shape before they split, so that should be your signal to return. Good luck!

I was looking for something larger in which I could add lemons, oranges and berries to infuse the water in a large 5 gallon dispenser. It worked great!! The slices lemons fit in perfectly. Oranges I had to cut the slices in half.

Used this to dry hop in my cornelius keg. It worked perfectly. Used 3 oz of pellet hops, an addition for 6 days and another 3 oz the following week. Easy to clean, suspended in keg with fishing light which you can tie to the lid.

This product works great for home brewing. I was concerned about the larger wholes in the top letting some of the hops out into the boil, but it doesn't seem to be an issue. I have also used one for dry hopping in a corni keg and this worked well and fit perfectly.
