Used it to hew up some ash logs, it's perfectly balanced and goes right where you want it to. It makes a squared up log and a huge mess in a hurry.

Mine just arrived today and I haven't used it at all, which is what'll count the most as far as whether or not this thing is worth such a high cost... I'm planning on heavy use, however, this spring season as we're building a log cabin. So time will tell. Really it's the main reason why I was willing to fork out 150 for such a simple, common tool that can be had for much less. So well soon see how it holds up. As far as appearance and workmanship goes, it looks top notch and badass, no wiggle in the head around the handle, I clamped the blade in a vise and pulled and twisted and felt no flex or give, as though one pce. And I'm now considering how the side bevel edge will probably make it a very effective cutting edge for chopping wood. It'll be like striking with a giant chisel head with many pounds of force behind it. Never really thought of it before but I suspect it's going to tear some shit up. I'll let you know down the line how it performs.

This is a great broad axe/hatchet. The handle is perfectly hung with proper parallel grain orientation. The head is perfect, just like the photo shows. I am a happy camper!
