Way, Way Better Than Expected!
I was honestly expecting far less than what I received. These are about as perfect as I could hope, and I’ve just put another several pair in my cart, in various colors. The fit is superb! The material is cotton canvas, which is a departure for me, as I prefer merino wool and strategic synthetics. The cloth weight is heavier than I expected, but not overwhelmingly so. I’d think hard-wearing might be a good description, though they feel quite soft, with just a hint of give, or stretchiness. Now, if they were ripstop canvas, that would be even better, but for this price? No way - not gonna happen. The manufacturing is sublime. Every stitch, seam, button, zipper. Perfect. The length on me is perhaps a couple of inches above the knee, which might qualify as too-short these days, but it’s just what I was hoping. The crotch/waist relationship is perfect. I had to return a couple of pair of competing shorts, because I felt the crotch was either too low or the waist too high. These are a great compromise, and I can only see them becoming more accustomed to my body upon fully breaking in. I could wear these in just about any casual situation - with a t-shirt or untucked dress shirt. They’re simple and clean. I used to wear cargo shorts for comfort, but grew tired of the sloppy look of voluminous, externally-applied pockets, and general bagginess. THESE shorts have two front pockets (deep enough for my iPhone Pro Max and lightweight wallet to share. I’ll likely never utilize the buttoned rear pockets, but it’s nice to know they’re available. All of the pockets and the reinforced waistband are built like khaki pants. There’s a dart between each back pocket and the waistband, directly in-line with the back pocket buttons. No darts or gathers in the front. The canvas material which makes up the majority of the shorts, dives deep into the front pockets, such that the white pocket material will never be exposed in casual use. It’s one of my pet peeves to discover that the pocket material is exposed - it won’t be a problem with these shorts. The waistband is fairly narrow, while the belt loops extend another ¾” in length below. One could wear a lightweight sports-style belt of polyester webbing, or as wide as one might dare - perhaps 1½”? I won’t need a belt with these.100% cotton, made in Sri Lanka. Just beautiful craftsmanship all around. I love these!

A Short(s) review
Product is well constructed from a comfortable fabric. Looks and feels like the name brand. Stitching is clean and uniform. Zipper is standard quality, should be just fine. Fit is great for me, but that's a taste thing, no accounting for taste. Hits me just above the knee and the straight legs don't make me look like I'm wearing clown shorts.Lot said on a pair of shorts, but I won't to give you enough info to help. They run a little tight in the waist, but not much. My first pair fits less snug, but I think it grew to me. Not sure what the true measurement is: me, the old shorts, or the new shorts? Couple of washes I bet the new fit like the old.

No stretch. Good value
Great length. Not too short. Not too long. They are a bit tight if you have bigger legs and butt (no stretch). Good value, though.

Perfect Fit on these affordable must have shorts
I’m a bit leery about buying clothes online because I hate returning things - these shorts hit the mark on sizing, look, and cost.I’ve ordered these in multiple colors for my summer closet.

Very comfortable for a mature gentleman with out being baggy in the legs and butt.
Well made and simple in styling. Just great shorts for a retired guy. Space where I need it without baggy legs and butt. One of my go to things in my comfort zone.

Gets the job done, but not my favorite
TL;DR: they are ok but there are better options for the price. Unusually high waist (or low crotch, depending on how worn). Slightly tight on hip. Some minor quality concerns but overall good enough. Most of my complaints are with the fitment. They are true to size (38) and technically should work well enough but they just felt slightly odd. The first thing I noticed is that they are really high rise. I had to either pull them up grandpa style with the waist basically at my belly button or keep them at my normal waist and have the crotch hang low. I went with the latter which makes the overall length look more like typical shorts with a 9" inseam and also produced a bulge when sitting down that would give women false hope. I laid a pair of my old shorts on top of them with the waists lined up and confirmed that the crotch does sit a solid 2-3" lower (also the zipper is a lot longer). The hip area felt tight when I put my hands in my pockets, especially if I had my phone, wallet, and keys in the pockets, but to be fair, I do have a rather big butt and thick thighs, and I am not used to non-stretch fit pants. Maybe the stretch fit version of these is better. I am very glad I got the classic fit and not the slim fit because those would definitely not fit.My only quality issue is the fly button seems to be sewn on kind of flimsily. It may be fine but I feel like it will eventually fall off. Otherwise, the material and sewing seems solid for the price. Hopefully they won't shrink in the wash. I do appreciate the 2 belt loops in the back instead of the usual 1, since my shorts often like to sag.I can't recommend these shorts as a first choice, but if you don't want to pay full price for brand names and can't find any other good deals, they will work. Personally, I will not be buying these again as I feel like there are better options for a similar or even lower price if you're willing to look. My favorites are the Member's Mark shorts from Sam's Club for $12-15, but they are only sold during Summer. I have had good luck with Saddlebred, Izod, Nautica, Polo, and Chaps as well when they go on sale at department stores for $15-25. I also ordered a pair of Izod Saltwater stretch shorts on Amazon that I like a lot better for only $18, but price and availability varies widely depending on size and color.
