Q: Is this better than GT-85??

This is the best chain lube I have found. My current bike has over 75,000 miles, and I lube every 200 miles or so, so I have lubed a lot. I am convinced that I found the stuff I will use until I cannot ride anymore.

Q: I have the 4 oz bottle. Am I supposed to cut off the top, as with Elmer's glue?

the cap confused me too. visually it doesn't appear to do much when you twist it, but in fact it does expose a tiny pinhole at the top, and no you shouldn't cut it

How does Finish Line dry compare to Pro Link chain lube? I don’t mean to dis FL, but Pro Link and its variants are a whole other thing. The cause of chain wear is from grit that gets into every crack and crevice, seal, everything! It literally grinds your drivetrain down. Pro Link products do not attract dirt. I’m a roadie in S. Fla and sand is a big culprit for us. This PL stuff will fool you. It will still look clean for 100 miles and even longer down here. I needed to keep better mileage records! I never use anything else.
