With this short rainfly, I'm weary about rain and cold weather. We often camp in the fall with near 30 degrees. Anyone has experience with this?

This tent is designed for airflow, so perfect for warmer weather. I, on the other hand, bought it in October and camped in Wasatch Mountain State Park in Utah that month last year. Nights were 30 degrees and I slept in a great sleeping bag wearing a beanie and a hoodie over my jammies! So cold! The second night I had a small heater and extension cord to keep warmer. It still was cold, yet better. Looking forward to spring and summer camping this year in this tent! And it's a dream to put up. I'm not even 5'5" and I set it up and took it down myself! Bamm! It's so roomie and nice inside. You'll love it!

Can this be set up by one person?

Deborah, absolutely! This tent is very easy to set up alone. We recommend trying it with another person, at least the first time setting up so you can get familiar with the design and the set up steps. Thank you, Customer Service.

How come nothing tells you how big the tent is opened for a tent pad? How big is this tent when it is opened very important who cares about the bag?

I measured 11x9 to the outside poles at the corners. The actual floor of the tent seemed to be around 3" less than that. Since your ground cover needs to not stuck out from the sides of the tent, I would suggest for about 10.5' x 8.5'.

Do you need to waterproof it when it's new?

Tents are water resistant so I've never waterproofed one. Just remember when it rains, don't touch the walls or else the moisture will come through. If you do use waterproofing, use the kind for pop up trailers bought in camping Dept of your local store,but this will wear off with time and more so with tents being folded and rolled up tight continuously.
