Does it work with a Corsair PSU wih Active Power Factor Correction (PFC)? Like the TX and AX series

Just pointing out that this UPS works perfectly fine for non APFC power supplies, such as my Corsair platinum HX1000i. I can't say for sure if it has a compatibility issue with APFC psu's, but I would tend to think if there was a broad compatibility issue, APC would take the time to outline it. I see 2 people here claim it doesn't work sepcifically with a Dell XPS 9000 though. To be safe, if you have an APFC psu in your pc, then I'd spend a moment on google to see if you can find a user who can confirm it works ok for that unit. I suspect it works fine with most APFC PSU's, but I'd confirm it for your model. I imagine there are other psu's out there, other than Dell xps 9000's, which are also sensitive about their sin waves. Clearly don't buy this for a Dell XPS 9000 though ;-)(PS, the HX850 mentioned by Matt, isn't an APFC power supply, so I'd disregard that comment about 2/3 etc).

when the power goes out how long will you computer, monitor, phone go on?

Other answers say 30 to 45 minutes of power depending on what you have connected to the battery support. Don't buy one of these if you plan to use your devices during an extended outage and rely on the battery that isn't being recharged. I bought mine so I would have time to shut down my desktop normally without data loss and while I haven't experienced an extended outage as yet with this unit, under normal circumstances you (or me) would be warned of a threatening storm and possible outage and shut down early. As with an earlier unit I plan to leave my low voltage base home phone connected even with a cellphone so I have another means of communication because cell towers are as vulnerable as landlines and recharging a cellphone is plausible using this APC. My purpose is to prevent loss via a shut down that I refer to as a power blink; the TV, lights, cable box, modems, and the damn desktop shut off for a few seconds. This APC supports the desktop while everything else either reboots or waits to be turned back on. Everything connected to the APC is surge protected.

Can the APC BR1000G produce "clean" constant power for an extended period of time if it were connected to a regular so-called "dirty" power generator?

Apparently not. I'm running off a generator now and adjusted the sensitivity. The APC "sees" 115v input, but it switched to battery until the battery was dead. It won't supply the dirty power or charge itself with it.

May buy for my PowerMac G5 Quad. Will it allow time for saving and shutdown or 1-2 min outages? Rated power consumption: 185 w idle, 550 w max CPU.

At present I have a desktop PC w/Viewsonic 22" monitor running Windows 8.1 with a canon IJ printer standing by. I also have my zoom wireless router, a Cisco DVR, a Denon amp, a Panasonic 60" plasma TV and a PS3 all covered. It shows that the UPS would cover the current hardware drawing 390w continuous for 10 minutes. I believe max power coverage is is 780w for 2 mins. I shut down everything but the computer and its associated equipment and the draw is 15w and it could power it for 2 hrs. 8 min. I hope this helps.
