Nice printer
Awesome printer. Got tired of the buying the Walmart printers. Seem liked needed to by a new printer every 12 to 18 monthes. So figured would invest little more to higher grade printer and see if it holds up better. So far it has been better than expected. Speeds are good and print quality for what I used it for is excellent. I'm able to hook up to my network and print from any computer on the network. I'm also able to print from Galaxy phone and Galaxy notepad. So very pleased with this printer.

Seriously glitchy and problematic machine.
Print and scan quality excellent, although color quality no as good as HP printers using toner.Time-consuming and challenging to set up, especially to a wireless network. Self-feed tray VERY fussy and jams CONSTANTLY with envelopes. Unlike other printers which put scanner bed above the paper return tray, this unit puts the scanner bed flush on top of the printer and stacks the paper at the rear, far from easy reach, into a flimsy plastic guide. Setting for B&W and "save toner" settings buried deep in the print menu. Biggest hassle, envelope address location has a major glitch working with Windows 10 and Word 2013- places address far left in spite of envelope settings in Word. Two hours with two non-English speaking Lexmark techs couldn't resolve the issue. Cause: Default setting in Lexmark/Word envelope dialogue box is "Auto Tray". Must go into this control setting and manually select "Manual Envelope" from the tray list every time you want to print an envelope. VERY inconvenient. A glitch in the software which will surely be ignored for all time by Lexmark. When envelope is inserted into manual feed, control message comes on telling you to insert envelope into manual feed. No way to get rid of this message and proceed-- have to cancel job, sometimes several times- before machine will take envelope, and then usually it will jam (a standard No. 10 bond envelope). Installation CD is from 2013 for CX410. This includes the 340 page instruction manual that is overly technical and non-intuitive in its instructions, and extremely slow and clumsy to navigate electronically- I finally printed it out into a bound book I keep by the printer for fast, easy (and constant) reference. August 2017 firmware update clumsy to find and install from Lexmark website- had to do it three times before it would finish download and complete. "2016 Universal Driver update" on the website is just the same old 2013 driver. Obviously more patches are needed for this glitchy machine. I bought this based on mediocre previous experience with HP and Brother, bad reviews for their new machines, and high-quality associated with Lexmark brand. Knowing what I know now- a good machine with too many annoying glitches and not being user-friendly-- I'd go with HP in spite of their bad reviews. Has better color, less hassle to set up, and is generally more user-friendly. Unit apparently not sold in any stores where you can see it and try it out in person- only available on-line- at least within 150 miles of my home in New England. Bought an extended warranty from Amazon- requires you to keep the HUGE box and all packaging, registration of product, and reviews indicate this is pretty much worthless if you need warranty service. I'll see. PROS: well constructed, high-quality B&W copies, first-rate scanner, fast print speed, quiet, excellent duplex, many layers of fine-tuning adjustments (if you can find them) CONS: heavy (64 lbs), inconveniently located manual feed at very bottom of printer that is extremely fussy to load and jams constantly, envelope printing has serious delivery-address printing glitch, flimsy output tray and inconvenient location at back of printer, can't use "Scan to Email" function with ordinary USB connection- only works with wireless or ethernet connection, wireless set-up challenging even for an experienced techy (impossible if you are of normal ability), as fancy as this machine purports to be, you must buy a $50 add-on device to enable fully wireless functionality- otherwise only "wireless" if connected through a wired ethernet cable to a nearby modem (cable not provided), driver firmware updates overly fussy and techy to install, so-so color reproduction (better than Brother, worse than HP), B&W and save-toner settings buried deep in menu and can't be set as default- otherwise wastes color toner when printing B&W and waste toner in general, extremely poor tech support both in knowledge and communication skills, toner cartridges very expensive- Lexmark plays the "gotcha" toner game too, initial cartridges have more limited output than most. Would be a top-of-the-line machine if the company bothered to pay attention and fixed the glitches as well as making it as user-friendly as an HP machine. Through out the navel-gazing techies in the design and instruction manual department, and get real-world users in there make it user-friendly. Updating Oct. 24, 2022 I've had it with this piece of crap. I've spent over $1200 on over-priced toner, in spite of two Covid years of very little use in the interim. I never could get the wireless function to work properly- just too glitchy in spite of the extra equipment Lexmark makes you buy after advertising it as being a wireless machine. Plus it was impossibly fussy to set up-- one has to be a computer programmer to try and get this anywhere near functional. Today, the duplexing function stopped working- which I use often- and it jams with every single piece of paper, although it has no problem doing single sided. This was the last straw. The color reproduction is atrocious, anything remotely near the shade of red comes out orange, even fire-engine red comes out the color of rust, in spite of all the internal adjustments you can make to the color. I haven't liked it from the beginning, but wanted to get my money out of it but ultimately it was a $1700 mistake that I should have sent back the first week. It's going to the dump tomorrow. You've been warned. Anyone that pays large coin for this rip off has wasted their money and will be as sorry as I am- if not immediately, soon after. Add to this horrendous customer/tech support, and you just can't get much worse. This machine is clear demonstration that Lexmark has nothing but contempt for the lowly consumer.

Worst Color Laser Printer I've had in my fleet in 7+ years of IT Experience
24,000 pages into the life of this printer (and only 8 months since we bought it from CDW)... Both Black and Color Imaging Kit is low (about , Replaced Black Cartridge 7x (Yeah supposed to get 6000 pages!?), Cyan Replaced 3x, Magenta 3x, and Yellow 3x... and also already had to replace a "Toner Waste Cartridge" We went through $3000 of toner from Stiles within 8 months. soooooo.... Naturally you'd want to ask what on earth am I printing to use up so much black toner? Letters.... Duplex letters.... I wish I could've said flyers, brochures, or images that would justify the severe low page count output from a toner that advertises 6000 pages per toner cartridge (71B1HK0 - Black one), but sorry that's not the case! I've seen horrible printers do better than this! This thing is a money pit, go get a Xerox, Dell, HP, or Brother, but I would avoid any color Lexmark in the 410 series, ESPECIALLY the CX417de (which is the one we have)... ours is going straight in the trash once the toner is used up, my conscience won't even let me give this lemon to someone I hate.

I bought this printer in order to have a great fax machine
I bought this printer in order to have a great fax machine. Every time I scan to make a copy or to the computer I have two lines that appear. I have tried to contact someone to help me fix the problem but it seems that no one wants to call back. It is frustrating to have two printers by the same manufacture and I am having issues. Just disappointed in the product.

So far working very well. One item of note is that is indicated it could do duplication, which it will do MANUALLY. I was under the impression it was an automated option.

It is really good. The color print out is exactly what you see on the screen. Printing is fast and quiet. I got it when it was on sale, the price and quality is just incredible. Wireless setup is easy with a printer server adapter made for this model by Lexmark. The adapter fits in a slot, not just hanging on the side.

Awful and avoid like the plague
It prints and functions well when it works and we've had it for 2 years now.. Overall for our small business and office this is the worst printer- multifunction that we've purchased. It's expensive to own, constantly needing this or that new cartridge, and if1 color cartridge is low it won't even work in black and white. Luckily our office has other printers, too much downtime for this one. There are many other better options similar to this that would be a better purchase, this is one to avoid!

I like Lexmark
I really like Lexmark products. They are always in the top 5 printer brands. However their toner is very expensive. If the toner was more affordable then top two.

Great printer. It’s our small office workhorse. Can’t say anything bad about it other than it doesn’t give you a massage while you’re waiting for the print job... it would be a short massage anyway because the printing is lightening fast.

I recently found myself in need of a high-volume machine to print a large volume of paperwork from my computer. My experience with printers had primarily been inkjets by various manufacturers (I used to sell them), and my opinion on them is that their performance, durability, and cost-efficiency with ink cartridges various widely from manufacturer to manufacturer, with HP being the best and Epson being the worst. I had only ever owned one laser printer, an HP DW252 purchased in 2017, and was dazzled by the high quality of the prints, the glossy color, and the responsiveness and ease of the touchscreen interface. I no longer have the printer, and thought I'd by another HP, this time an all-in-one as I had scanning and copying to do as well. Unfortunately, none were on sale, and they run fairly expensive, so I gave this Lexmark a shot as I was impressed by the PPM and DPI quality in the specs. Unfortunately, it failed to live up to its description. Shockingly, the printer lacks integrated wireless printing hardware, requiring the user to buy a separate external wireless adapter that runs about $50 USD on their website; worse, there's no included Ethernet or USB cable, so one can literally print nothing out of the box, necessitating a trip to a local electronics store to buy the cable itself. I was not impressed by the response time of the touch screen, compared to the HP model I had, with as much as 1.5 seconds in between pressing a button on the home screen and receiving a response. I was also let down by the quality of the prints, with the color looking rather pale and transparent despite being set to the highest DPI configuration. The paper frequently jammed and had to be removed manually from the feeder. The included black and CYM toners ran out after barely a couple of hundred pages, compared with over 1000 with the 201 toners for the HP printer. This would've required me to go out and buy expensive toner replacements from the first day! Awful. Then there's the fact that there's no way the pages came out at 32/minute; I timed it compared to an HP 6968 Inkjet from 2016, and both printed at about 19 PPM. The printer was extraordinarily heavy, though that's expected with printers of this size; however, the lack of wireless connectivity required me to move it several times for the cable to connect to the router, which is not near my PC. I decided to return the printer for a refund and will never buy Lexmark ever again. Stick to HP or Canon.

Great Printer, Great Scanner too. It is super fast. The ADF is also fast and the scan quality is amazing. The starter cartridges are still going. So far nothing negative to say about this.
