Love it
My last e-reader was a kindle paper white 6th gen, so this is total upgrade for me! I don't find it laggy or slow like some other reviews say (you should meet my 12 year old kindle) I find it fast and smooth. And no weird screen savers of smut romantasy novels like kindle 🤣 Kindle has the advantage of instantly uploading Libby books onto kindle, but it's not too troublesome to upload ePubs manually through my computer. My old Kindle PW had a white/blue backlight for reading in the dark which hurt my eyes so I never used it. I LOVE this nice and warm amber backlight from nook. Also... I love the BUTTON PAGE TURNERS! It was frustrating how the touch screen on kindle would not register my tap to turn the page, instead taking me back a page or highlighting a word or something else. It was too sensitive for my fumbly fingers. The chunky buttons on nook are amazing! So far I love this little nook. I can't find any cons vs the kindle besides the instant Libby uploads. Then again my kindle was old and not as fancy as the newer gens. Now I can read comfortably in bed, ( and in the dark if I want) on my side and turn pages easily :')

Saved money and got a refurbished
It works perfectly fine just like a brand new one but much cheaper! I also have a kindle but my Nooks are older and my previous Nooks were too old to update. I do like having both a kindle and Nook.

Not good for downloading ebooks
I am an ARC (advanced readers copies) reviewer with NetGalley and some other independent authors, and so many of the ARCs are ebooks. Reading on my phone is bothersome for my eyes so I wanted something a little easier on the eyes AND wallet than some other popular brand ereaders. Terrible mistake. In theory the process to download your own books onto the device seems easy but after an hour+ of my very tech savvy husband fiddling with this, there was no success. We managed to get a version onto the device but then it would not display the content or flip through pages. It’s crazy in such a digital world it required the device to physically be connected to a laptop. There was not an option to send it in any way. Even if I were using it solely to purchase books from it, the device was so laggy. And after charging the device for hours, the battery life was only at 7% and the off screen read “your device is dead”. All roads were leading me to disappointment with this gadget.

Just perfect size
I love the size, so handy and perfect. Only complaint is it came with a scratch on the screen.

As good as new
This was shipped quickly, and arrived quickly. I see no difference as it looks brand new, and works like new. I saved quite a bit of money buying this renewed product. Not a mark on it, the screen is excellent, and all my books are displayed once I signed in. You can also side load ePub's as well, which I did. Not much to dislike. One thing I like about this nook is the bezels on the side are a bit bigger, which is good for me, having large hands, as I can hold on to it much easier than some other devices. page turn buttons work well too.

Inferior in almost every way to the previous Nook.
I collect E-readers.. Eventually my original Nook and Nook Glowlight had to be replaced, I swapped the battery once but then the rubber trim starting degrading and becoming sticky so I decided to get the new Nook Glowlight 4. First, the renewed Nook came in excellent like new condition. Setup was fine no issue. Now.... It is inferior to the original Nook Glowlight I had in almost every way. It's much slower in menu navigation, page refresh, book loading, etc. The white background that used to make the text pop on the Glowlight has been darkened so the text doesn't appear as crisp in contrast, I would consider it acceptable contrast comparable to about any other basic e reader now. You can no longer [officially at least] add your own custom background\screensaver which I really enjoyed. You can't add to the existing built in fonts there are workarounds in external programs but it would have been nice. The battery life is very poor compared to the previous Nook. The previous Glowlight's battery could last a month, reading for several hours every day. This one drains fast and needs to be charged every week even with the light set at less than 1/4 of the maximum. It has frozen a couple times but nothing major you get either go back to the menu or once i had to restart but generally you can get the a book without much issue. I do like the compact size and how lightweight it is using a simple rubber cover, something like the ISD Toys brand Slim Fit, Semi-Transparent Cover with Texture for Nook Glowlight 4. Since it's light weight, with that simple textured rubber cover you can hold it in one hand keeping your thumb on the button and turn the page using only one hand . That is a real plus for me, so that's the reason I ended up keeping it because I like the nooks physical buttons and being able to hold it in one hand comfortably. So yeah, that's about the only positives. It's compact, lightweight, and has decent contrast along with being just about the only reader that has physical buttons. But unless you want the physical buttons and are willing to put up with the negatives, get a Kindle Paperwhite or Kobo Clara BW instead..

Like new.
If you told me it was brand new I would believe it. Light weight, no defects or blemishes. The physical side buttons are excellent. The screen is very crisp and the backlight illuminates very evenly.
