LingTing Thumb Piano, an Investment of Quality and Enjoyment
The LingTing 17 Keys Thumb Piano flat board in C tone is a beautiful sounding instrument. I own two thumb pianos, the LingTing which I .prefer to play rather than the 17 Keys box style. The flat board has a soft, relaxing sound for the type of music I wish to play, whereas the box thumb piano is louder for outdoor playing. I am teaching myself; however, I would like to have some lessons. I started out having no knowledge of music, and yet was able to start playing simple songs right away. If you wish to play an instrument; if you wish to make a small investment in an instrument, I recommend LingTing 17 Keys in C. It is so easy to tune, easy in learning to play, light weight and portable, and some come with a protective case which I recommend. Anyone at any age can learn to play this instrument to one’s satisfaction. And if you want quality, LingTing is a beautiful, well sounding and quality choice.

Blown away by how amazing this kalimba is for the value.
I got the 21k in black walnut, and even though I have kalimbas three times more expensive, this is easily my favorite kalimba I own. It came with no dead or buzzy tines, and the tones are crystal clear, soft, and bell-like, just like I was hoping for. I was worried about the size, because I have small hands and other 21k models from different brands like Hluru have been uncomfortably wide and difficult to hold, and I thought the same would be true for this one, but it's the PERFECT size. It's actually more comfortable to hold and play than the 17k models I have! And the matte quality of the wood gives plenty of grip, so it never slips out of your hands. Also, I looove how soft and resonant the tines are! Other brands like hluru can have really stiff tines that make playing quickly difficult, but with this one, you barely have to brush your fingernail over the tines to make a full sound. Even in the high tines where you'd normally expect tones to sound a little plinky and dull, these have a beautiful, ringing resonance.

Amazing for its price
The kalimba sounds really nice and everything is good quality. Very easy to take anywhere I wish and it’s been really fun to play. Good product

Nice Kalimba, Junk stickers
High quality with a nice case and a lot of goodies to go along with it. The reason for the 4 stars is the sets of stickers that come with it won’t stick at all so they are useless, which sucks for a beginner like me who doesn’t know the notes yet.

Lovely!
This instrument sounds great and has a nice weight to it. If you put it flat on something like a wooden desk and play it amplifies the sound nicely. I find it really intuitive to play with how the scale is set up and it fits nicely in your hands without much strain on the body like some other instruments. It sounds like a mix between a harp and a piano. The case is sturdy and has a space for the tuning hammer. Comes with an app for tuning that works well. Personally not big on the tassel or chain it came with. Tho the chain is fun to experiment with. One of my favorite instruments, no regrets.

My favorite Kalimba!
I love my kalimba. Having all the different keys lets you play almost any song, without retuning. The quality of the metal and wood is very good, and the sound is much clearer and softer than the low-quality hollow kalimbas.

Chromatic Kalimba
I got the 34 key which is the chromatic. You get your sharps and flats where you dont with the smaller instrument, giving you a wider selection of songs you can play or adapt. I have a smaller, hollow bodied 17 key that I enjoyed, and while the hollow body is louder, it also buzzes and vibrates more than this solid body. Still plenty loud enough! But without that terrible buzz. Also the highest keys dont make that ugly plonking. They actually ring. I did have to adjust slightly as the leftmost key was muted, but with a bit of trial and error I got it done. This does tune a bit differently from the hollow body ones you see more commonly. But there are instructions and even video links to help. Overall the sound quality is so much better with this instrument and the wood and construction are definitely worth the price.

I am not a particularly Kalimba player but this is a very special piece since it is chromatically tuned (two rows of keys). One could play a lot more Melodies. Love it. Sadly ther is no tunning hammer included on the pack, though there is a place for that in the case.

This Wind Whisperer Ling Ting 17 key kalimba is tuned to C major. Superior clear resonating sound from slimmer curved blank tines. Why choose C over B? The higher C scale has a purer almost lighter fairy like tone that is enjoyable to hear for most songs. There are more available options within the kalimba community to find shared songs with C major scale notes and numbers. The smooth unvarnished wood is a lovely red African Rosewood. Perhaps too intense. Not as attractive and distinct markings as many other wood grains. Will not discuss size specifics but it has a denser body and could be heavier than what you are use to. The smaller dimensions makes it easier to hold and play. This both looks and feels like a high grade kalimba. Perhaps a beginner might want to start on a less pricey one that has wider tines. The usual extras are included plus a stick on sound amplifier, tremolo chain and green decorative tassel. The semi-hard protective case is well constructed. Please note that I have placed butterfly stickers on the wood which can easily be removed without damaging. Suggest watching a few of the many YouTube reviews and kalimba players using this popular model.

The kalimba produced good sounds but the quality is not so good. The wood is smooth and OK. The tuning hammer broke into 2 pieces on the first use. As some tines were slightly off it was rather difficult to tune with a broken hammer. One of the screws was not painted properly (ie one gold and the other kinda blakish) the z bracet is not perfectly aligned horizontally. I do not have time to return the product or organise swaps etc. Just taking my time to review to help future buyers
