I tried short and longer fasts and sometimes it was easy and other times so hard to stick to. I eat pretty well, I’m not overweight but am in the peri menopausal stage of life, experiencing brain fog, anxiety and exhaustion. I want to stay healthy, avoid illness and keep active, but I don’t want to take medication to achieve these things. I accidentally found Dr Mindy’s videos on you tube while looking for more info on how to fast effectively. Dr Mindy’s enthusiasm and passion are infectious and what she says makes so much sense and it’s all research based. Women should be changing how we eat, fast and exercise according to where we are on our menstrual cycle to balance hormones. This book is so good, tons of information and a fasting cycle guide. I am now tracking my cycle, following the guide and feeling so much better already. Thank you for this book. Highly recommend

Every woman needs this book in her life!

A very good book.
I couldn't understand everything immediately, so felt like I shouldn't have bought it. But after understanding it, it's a wonderful book. It looks like there's too much repetition of the same information, but overall a very good book.

The best lifestyle book for healing and health
I have been familiar with Dr Mindy Pelz work for a few years now, after stumbling across her interview with Dave Asprey - I have never looked back. My journey was to use fasting for health and weight and to understand my Perimenopause issues and Dr Mindy's advice has healed me, reversing those night sweats, broken sleep and mood swings etc. that kicked in not long after turning 40. Dr Mindy is an advocate for people's health and has a plethora of geeky science, hacks, tips and tricks to help people, especially women to be empowered with their health and hormones. (check out YouTube). This book is a true Bible to help any woman, regardless of age, cycle or post menopause, to take back control of our health. I have learnt more from Dr Mindy, about how to look after my hormones than I have through school. This book needs to be in taught in schools to better educate our young girls. The book breaks down the science of our bodies and hormones and what each one does and how to look after them. It's explained why we struggle at certain times of the month and the healing powers of fasting and feasting and key foods for which hormones, gut health, muscles etc. Is best Each area of womans health is shined upon within the pages of this book. There is a 30 reset plan and in appendix C, these 30 days are adjusted to help specific conditions ie infertility, thyroid, autoimmune conditions etc. Which I love, as every consideration has been lovingly mapped out easy. I love the food recommendation for helping the healing process, from ketobiotic days, hormone feasting days and gut reset days etc. To name a few. No stone has been left unturned. There is also recipes to get you started. This is a powerful book and a must for ever female looking for health, healing or to just better understand her hormones. I have read Dr Mindy's book the menopause reset, which helped me through my crushing symptoms of Perimenopause, that I didn't understand and not getting much help from my GP, with bloods coming back fine and an offer to medicate or going the natural way. The tools in Fast Like A Girl, will see me through my life, and adopting this as a lifestyle. I have witnessed first hand how fasting has healed both me and my husband. I was pleased to see that there is an app for Fast Like A Girl, though this is for iPhones. I hope that there will be one for android coming out very soon. Thank you Dr Mindy Pelz, from the bottom of my heart to yours, I am so grateful to you.

Life changing
I cannot recommend this enough. I love how she explains the science and what happens each week of our cycle, and how food can support this. I've been listening to her podcast with Dr Willaim Li and it is life changing. Everything I thought I knew about dieting is wrong, and now I can see how to tailor not just food but also fitness to my body's needs. I have ongoing gyne issues that I am hoping to deal with naturally, can't comment yet as it's too soon but this book has given me such an insight and helped me get on the right track.

I read this book all the time. I refer back to it whenever I need a new recipe or want to know which phase I’m at. I go back to the book and read it. This is a great, easy read; it tells you which phase you are in and explains how to take care of yourself and feed accordingly. I really enjoyed this book. I purchased it a year ago, and I’ve used it very frequently ever since. Even now, it’s on my nightstand. I have lost a lot of weight with the help of this book. I’ve regulated my menstrual cycle, which is the best outcome. So, anyone struggling with their menstrual cycle or aiming to target something specific should read this book because it helps you understand how your hormones work in your body. Our hormones work together or against each other, and it’s really important to know how to handle different situations.

Love this book! I watch & follow Dr Mindy Pelz on various social platforms. This book is very popular so I had to get my own as I cannot always watch videos etc. Book is super informative on food, various fasts & their benefits along with recipes. Very knowledgeable and helpful.

I was eagerly anticipating this release and read it straight through upon reception. If you are a fasting novice, I entreat you to take your time reading this book though. Always consult with your healthcare provider before applying what you will learn in Fast Like a Girl. Written in her passionate voice followers of Dr. Mindy's YouTube channel appreciates so much, this will take you on a personalised journey of fasting for women at last. How to fast optimally for your hormonal cycle, recipes, 6 types of fasts, fasting for specific conditions - it is all in here. Several case studies, lifestyle adjustments, personalised tweaks, how to break a fast, and much more. A grain of wisdom that stood out for me was to over the period of a month vary your nourishment by as many as 200 items. That will definitely be a fascinating experiment. Readers get access to an app, that will soon be released. There are also Hay House offerings for readers.
