Great product! Compact and great for massaging sore muscles.
The quality of this massage ball is excellent. It is firm enough to use for any muscle group with just the right amount of flex for use anywhere comfortably. I really like using it for deep massaging my rear delts and my back because I have a hard time reaching those areas, but it works great on any muscle group. To massage my back, I am also able to use it while laying down with my back on the floor (and against a wall) which is really convenient. The tread is really good at reaching deeper into the muscles which seems to make this work really well without needing to massage for very long. I don't have to use it for very long in any area to feel like it is working. It's small enough that it fits into my gym bag easily. It also includes a nice carrying pouch with tie strings, which is a really cool bonus. I'm very impressed with this massage ball and it's helping me a lot with controlling soreness.

Perfect for Sciatica and deep knots
I have some really deep knots in my lower back that even muscle relaxers weren’t helping and my hubs has sciatica- I can’t rub deeply enough to help him. When I complained about my back hurting at work my coworker handed me this ball and told me to try it. It’s amazing! It’s very hard- harder and bigger than the tennis balls I’ve used. It’s easier to use when you’re rolling against a wall bc it doesn’t slip. I ordered my own that night. I debated about some cheaper versions and can’t speak to how effective any other brands are, but I’m glad I didn’t. I use it multiple times a day. At 1st I rolled my back against the wall for 15-30 minutes but after 2-3 times the knots were gone. Now I use it for a few minutes anytime my back starts aching (when I first wake up, after sitting at my desk). My hubs uses it against a wall and laying on it. Much cheaper than the PT my doctor recommended (although that’s probably better for getting to the root of the problem), portable, just really effective at pain relief. Works on shoulder and neck knots too!

It helped cure my plantar fasciitis.
I had plantar fasciitis for about 2 years before remembering hearing about mobility balls a few years earlier. When I looked up what they were the first time, I was put off by the price. But then when I reconsidered, I searched on here and this was the first one to show up with overall good reviews, so I got it. Man do I wish I'd gotten it earlier! Along with regular stretching and yoga, this ball is the only thing to really help me out. Frozen water bottles, being stuck in one of those boots for a full month, massages with my hands...all the stuff that the doctors recommended didn't help. Muscle Max's little wonder here did though, and I've since recommended it to over a dozen people, with every one of them thanking me profusely. Heck, pre-COVID I'd loan mine out to let them try it out first and they were sold within minutes. I've mainly used it on my feet, but it works well on other areas too like your neck and back. For plantar fasciitis, I'd have it on the floor while I'm sitting down in a chair or on a couch, and just roll it around while pressing down a bit. You need some pressure in order to work it correctly. The pattern carved into the ball hits all sorts of spots as you roll it, and it really helps pinpoint where the pain is. It covered my entire foot, from the heel to the arch, sides of the arch, and balls of my foot. For the first couple of months, it hurt a lot for the first 10 minutes of use. But the more I used it, my feet started to feel better. I now ALWAYS have it with me in my bag when I'm at work. I may not need it as much now, but on days when my feet feel a little swollen or something, I bust this sucker out and go to town, feeling better in just minutes. While the Muscle Max ball is amazing, and an absolute steal at this price compared to the first mobility ball I found that was nearly identical in design, some people do say that it doesn't help much. For the cost, it's worth a shot. Just keep in mind that you should be doing lots of stretches for your calves too, and hopefully you'll be on the road to recovery. I can't stop recommending this ball- the people I let try it out first had the same question as me: why don't doctors ever recommend this?

Good massage ball, but a little too big for some applications
Just for transparency, I’d like to state that I was reimbursed to try out this product. I was surprised at the size of the ball since I’m used to using a lacrosse ball or tennis ball. It is hard so you have to be gentle depending on how sensitive you are. The size makes it good for rolling on a wall against your chest and also has a bunch of grooves that seems to aid it catching onto your contact. It comes with its own protective pouch so the dogs don’t think it’s their toy and chew it up. I don’t really see the point in all the grooves but it does provide some massaging effect as well. I’d say it’s good for therapy and feels good to roll under your feet. Does what its intended to do. It’s a little too big for some spots but makes rolling on the chest and glutes easier. I am enjoying this product, thanks!

Great for forearm and calf stiffness/trigger points
Prior to the COVID-19 lockdown, I would usually get a monthly massage for general muscle stiffness/soreness and to work out the kinks from resistance training (I’m in my early 50s). Now that I’m home full-time, I actually have more time to work out, which is great, but I’ve also been dealing more with more trigger points and charley horses and have had to resort to using a combination of massage balls, foam/hard rollers, and stretching to ease discomfort and to maintain my flexibility. This is my second massage ball and it pairs nicely with the smaller, “spiky” foot mobility ball that I’ve used in the past for plantar fasciitis. Where the smaller ball works well for rolling under the arch of my foot, the Muscle Max is the perfect size for smaller muscle groups (e.g. forearms, calves, biceps). I initially tried to work out some frequent trigger points in my forearms with the foot mobility ball but the increased surface area of the Muscle Max is much better suited for getting them to release. It’s definitely a “Hurts So Good” type of feeling (queue the John Cougar) but it’s much better than the soreness I’d otherwise feel while working out and I feel like I’m reducing my risk of injury from overcompensating for the sore muscles. I’d still rather have a massage but the MM is the next best thing for pain relief and I don’t have to wait a month to use it. :-) The Muscle Max also works pretty well for working the quads while seated (though I still prefer a stick roller) and for back and trap muscles while lying down on top of it. For hamstrings and abs, I still prefer a foam roller, but placing the MM under the hamstring while seated on a solid chair definitely helps with muscle spasms/tightness and is decidedly more convenient when multitasking. I’m actually trying it out as I write this! As others have stated, the Muscle Max is as hard as a lacrosse ball. It comes with a nylon carrying bag with pull cord that’s large enough to also hold my foot mobility ball but is otherwise nothing special. Overall, I think the MM is good value for the money and particularly useful for relieving exercise-induced soreness.

Good for sciatica related to piriformis muscle spasm and cramping.
So good! My husband and I take turns using it. I ordered another one. I have sciatica issues and this really helps.

Great to prevent after workout soreness
I loved it! I am not a fitness pro or anything, but I have used a foam roller before to mitigate back pain and soreness and while it helped, there would be small spots that the roller is just too clunky to reach correctly, especially along the shoulder blades. This ball worked perfectly to target those areas. It says you can either roll on the floor or held up against the wall. I attempted the floor, but it was a little more cumbersome than just using it against the wall. But once it was in the right spot and I was rolling it up and down the shoulder blades, it felt like a great massage. The actual quality of the ball seems very high. I don't know if there is anything mechanically unique about it, but I can say that it seems sturdy and the material does not disturb or pull on my skin when I roll it around. It is around the same size as a tennis ball and just a bit more heavy. It comes in a nice little storage bag if needed. Other than that, it is pretty simple and I will definitely be incorporating it into my routine.

Quality, durable massage ball
I have had this persistent shoulder pain for the past couple of years and have even given up weekend bowling trips with the family. After daily use this ball has greatly reduced the discomfort. While I have not started bowling I think continued therapy with this ball will eventually allow me to get back on the lanes and have fun with the family. If you are familiar with the soft Miracle Ball the Muscle Max Massage ball is about the same size but the similarities end there. The Miracle Ball is very soft and is effective at stretching out your back and other parts of your body, the Muscle Max ball is more of a deep tissue muscle massage. The Muscle Max Ball is hard and has really no give like the Miracle Ball. The Muscle Max ball is perfect for targeting tight muscle spots and work out those knots. While i have had it for only just a week the material looks very durable and feels like it will last for years to come. I will try to get back with an update for this product in 6 months.
