Yes, this is what I was missing!
Bought this to replace my wired headset of the same manufacturer, the Recon 200. I loved the audio clarity of the Recon and, honestly, thought I had found the best deal out there for headsets. Upon getting my new one set up, I was immediately impressed by the mic monitoring feature which allows you to hear yourself in your own ears. It's actually really nice to know how loud you sound to others, but certainly not *necessary* for most people. Then I got into gameplay with others on a PS party chat. THAT'S where I noticed the biggest difference. I am now able to individually control the chat volume from the game sounds (COD: MW). Took me a minute to get the levels dialed in perfectly, but once I did, my ears were much happier! With the old headset, I found that I was often wishing the game were louder, or the chat, and then the game again, then chat again... It was a never ending circle of wishing one were louder than the other. Now that isn't an issue at all! As for the audio quality and clarity, at first I didn't like the sound. The EQ seemed low-end-heavy, without much sharpness to the highs. I missed how clear my old Recon 200 was- I could hear details and tiny pebbles falling from the wrecked buildings around me. However, as I played more, I began to notice that what I was hearing *more* of was the important stuff: you know, footsteps on the ground OUTISDE the building I was in, and other stuff like that. As I played even more, I began to notice those more subtle (but unimportant) details, like the aforementioned pebbles falling, but could also now hear the direction and distance of footsteps. The "virtual surround sound" on these is amazing! I no longer just heard footsteps to my left- I could now pinpoint whether they were near or far, and could actually hear them change from in front of me to behind! I'm super impressed with this feature! The only real negative thing I can say about these is the comfort of the headband. On my Recon the padded headband was super comfy and I didn't even notice it was there, even during longer gaming sessions. The padding on the Stealth headband isn't as soft/forgiving, and I found myself adjusting it to a few different positions over the course of a couple hours. Not a deal breaker by any means, as I think the superb audio quality and the ability to individually adjust chat/game volume are of much greater benefit. Overall highly recommended! I only wish I wouldn't have tried to go the cheap route when I first got a headset!

A great mid/high tier headset.
I've only owned a couple $80-100 headsets in the past but they were good. These, however, are terrific! Sound: A resounding deep bass when and crystal clear ambiance make for great immersion while gaming or watching a movie/video. The volume might not get to where it'll blow out your ear drum as many complain but I promise you it's more than enough. The noise cancelling is almost flawless and you do get a sense of your surroundings as TB claims. I will warn you that the Super Hearing featured can be a bit jarring with it's MEGA treble so turn the volume a bit for that. Overall it's worth every penny. Mic: The feedback I get from the gang is great. I'm told that my comms comes through as if I was in the room with them. The 'Flip to Mute" is great for when the wife thinks I've neglected a thing or two and would rather my squad mates didn't get to be a part of that conversation. The boom feels sturdy and I'm not worried about any breakage. Comfort: Game on my friend. The battery will die before these bad boys cause any discomfort. Battery: To be expected or a bit better. The Bluetooth is on by default so make sure to cut it off to get the most time out of your battery. You can expect 5-7 hours on a full charge. Quality: Ok, a lot of people gripe here. Personally I think it's spoiled first world problems coming out. These are plastic. You can't expect cast iron toughness here. And while some think that makes them cheap, I see it as an added benefit. These puppies are feather light (see Comfort). Summary: But them now and if you find them on sale... buy 2.

Comfortable with glasses - UNTIL THEY DIE and the battery gets so hot you put them in a metal bowl just in case
UPDATE: 89 days is how long they lasted - DIED - Battery is hot enough to explode so I have them in a large metal bowl just in case - Turtle Beach doesn't list a phone number so I have to wait for them to call me back, it's Friday. 89 days folks, stay away until TB says they are GEN2 or something specific - they should recall these - GARBAGE - also, they sound flat and if you do leave the room with the Bluetooth on the chat gets all funky so you have to turn them back off, so I end up not walking around anywhere with them on my head - GARBAGE UPDATE::: These have died. Just flat out died after 89 days of use. THESE ARE GARBAGE - STAY AWAY - One of my friends had 2 of this model die within weeks. Complete crap - do not buy - do not buy, do not buy Update: Battery lasts 7-8 hours, range isn't great so a few feet outside the room where the PS4 is and the headset starts fading in and out. They are 100% wireless except for charging. I've had these for a day as a replacement for my 106 week old Stealth 500p which are stuck on volume level 100%. These are much more comfortable. I wear glasses, and these are the first ones that aren't pushing them all over my nose when I tilt my head. The ability to use bluetooth and listen to music/tv/news/etc from a computer or phone while gaming and no longer hear my friends comments on whatever random comment a news commentator made, priceless. Sarcasm warning, Now I can listen to *hated band name* without anyone knowing! HAHAHA. Cons: minor, nothing major. I wish it had dual Bluetooth channels so it could sync with my phone and computer at the same time. Does anything?Going back and forth is seamless however. Mine do not have a great range, but it is decent. Volume knobs a bit harder to use than on previous model, mic monitoring is a bit too sensitive at times, but not a big deal and it easily could have been for me. Maybe if I was a narcissist hearing my voice wouldn't bother me as much. I wish the power button was a bit more responsive but I think I got used to it after a couple hours. Pros: They worked perfectly out of the box, updating firmware was easy too. The sound quality is very pleasing, but I would not say that these have a bright sound. If you are walking around the Voice doesn't blare in your ear like the last ones to tell you the mic is off. (mic off mic off, mic off, over and over no more!) Nice to flip the boom up for mute instead of a button, which also helps them lay flat. It was really nice to listen to Youtube music videos while gaming at a loud volume without disturbing my friends and without having to use the 3.5mm jack. I am recommending these to friends. Much nicer than the 500p, but nearly identical. The addition of Bluetooth really gives you a benefit that can be used to great advantage and it is "paired" with a platform that TB has been working on for a few years. I don't see any reason why these shouldn't be on someone's short list of high quality headsets.

Hands down the best headset I’ve had. I have two sets of Astro A50s(one Xbox one and latest gen for ps4) but I found them heavy and latest gen gave me the worse neck pain. These 700’s on the other hand are very comfortable, very configurable and sound is excellent. It is also great that they have Bluetooth, so I can continue gaming while my wife calls. Should note that I don’t have a large head, they might be too tight if you did. Also you will sweat around the ears as breathability isn’t the best. Other than that these are an excellent choice, and much cheaper than the competitors.
