The DMV Vented Scleral Cup is designed to provide a stable platform for inserting contact lenses that need to be filled with lens solution during insertion. This product has an air channel through the handle so it can be automatically released from the lens once the lens has been placed on the eye. Product is not to be used for removal of lenses. Do not use this product with diseased, injured or otherwise compromised eyes. Review: I picked up this insertion tool for my daily contacts two years ago (this is my second purchase after losing the first one), and honestly, I didn’t expect it to make such a difference. It gives you a much better grip on the lens, which means fewer drops, fewer “where did that lens go” moments, and way less touching the lens with your fingers. That alone keeps it cleaner and dust‑free, which is a huge win for anyone with sensitive eyes. The vented design is smart as it creates just enough suction to hold the lens securely without feeling like it’s glued on. It also releases easily once the lens is in place, so you’re not wrestling with it first thing in the morning. A few helpful tips for anyone considering it: • Works great for daily lenses, not just scleral lenses • Rinse the cup with saline before use so the lens sits perfectly centered • If your hands shake before coffee (same), resting your elbow on the counter helps • Keep a backup in your bag haha, these things are tiny and love to disappear It’s one of those inexpensive tools that ends up being way more useful than expected. If you struggle with slipping lenses, long nails, or just want to keep your contacts cleaner during insertion, this little cup makes the whole process smoother and a lot less frustrating. Sometimes the simplest tools end up being the ones you reach for every single day. Review: Works great. A bit expensive but as long as it works and doesn’t fall apart quickly it’s worth it.

It's for hybrid lenses. I had to up my review a star to counteract the other review. The only reason I was going to give it 4 stars was because of the cost. 25 years of contacts from gas permeable to soft. I'm veryyyy experienced. I've always had to wear custom lenses due to the prescription but it's not much different than the disposables all the lucky people get to wear. BTW I have those two for a contact glasses combo. This IS FOR hybrid lenses. They're amazing! But they're difficult to put in despite the fact I'm defininately a pro. Hybrid lenses have a hard center with a soft skirt around the outer edge. They must be completely full of solution to be inserted correctly. If I don't have this tool I've done a three fingertip insertion. It's a hit and miss sometimes. Also no matter how many times I wash my hands and lenses I can get an occasional smudge. Or if I towel dry my hands I'll get microscopic fibers on the lenses. This has solved every problem and is a must have for hybrid lenses. My only dislike was the eye gouging price. I must have accidentally knocked mine into the trash. This is so simple to use and durable that I don't want to call it cheap. But in all honestly it looks like the kind a contact accessorie that would come with free trial lenses and be thrown immediately away. Like a free piece of "junk". I expect it to last longer than a whole package of makeup sponges. But they don't cost $10... Pros: Well made (it just happens to be some kind of inexpensive material) Flexible Sanitary Keeps lenses sparkling clean as there is really no need to handle them much If used correctly perfect insert every time You can actually see them come into focus as you insert them due to the hole through the center If you're unsure of whether you made good contact you can give it a little swivel Cons: Price I don't buy spares because they're $10 each I think a fair price would be $1-2 max so you can buy a multipack. I'd buy 10. I already have a contact laboratory. It's not fair having vision this bad. I haven't paid for these new lenses yet. My last custom soft lenses were already $300 for a year supply And that company couldn't successfully recreate the ones I originally bought which reminded me of plungers anyways after my previous company quit doing custom lenses. It took 15 months, many trials, soft lenses to these and finally these hybrids are amazing. I was considering and dreading going back to hard lenses. If you're stuck with gas permeable hard contacts you should ask about these. I off-road, shoot, and live in a desert where the wind can blow sandstorms. I have 20/20 vision again with hybrids. And this tool is an amazing must have. After all that $10 for this was just another regular slap in the face. I cannot get surgery. My eyes are a -10 and -14. I know that's a lot of info to have but I think people should know what this is and what it's for. I wish it removed them to because it's a bit tricky at times. As long as you don't lose it, it'll last a long time.

Much easier to use for insertion of scleral lenses than the tool received from my optometrist. The vent means it doesn't stick to the tool and make release difficult, plus being able to see light through the hole makes it easy to line up properly. The large size makes it much easier to balance and hold the lens than the small tools.

This is the way to go for lenses.Easy to operate. the pass through hole is key for inserting lenses.
