Very nice unit and good value
I of course read several reviews on this unit plus several others. What's clear about this unit is it is what it is there's nothing magical about it but it so far is very well made has a very nice look to the flame it's an easy remote easy to learn. I'm impressed with the value. The unit is the perfect size for the flame effect, the heat comes out nicely , and the installation is very straightforward.

Beautiful, cozy electric fireplace with great flame effect
This electric fireplace has been a great addition to our space. The flame effect looks very realistic and adds a lot of warmth and ambiance without the mess or maintenance of a traditional fireplace. We mainly use it in the evenings, and it instantly makes the room feel cozy and inviting. I also appreciate how easy it is to use — simple controls and no hassle. It puts off enough heat to take the chill off while still looking great even when the heat isn’t on. Overall, it’s a really nice combination of function and style, and I’m very happy with it.

Fun and good looking!
Great for what it is! We were hoping to install a gas unit, but at this point in our lives it wasn't financially possible. But we wanted to fill the space in our fireplace surround so we thought about going electric until we saved up for gas. For the low price, this is a great option! We have a large living room with high ceilings so the heat function doesn't really work much - we jokingly call it the hair-dryer! :o) The screen is big and the fire image doesn't fill as much as I thought it would, but it's still pretty cool looking. We like having the options of the logs and the crystals. We do the crystals in the summer and do while light and blue flames and I call it my air-conditioning-fire! :o) Then we do the more realistic flames and logs for the cooler/winter months. The flames are not very realistic, but if you're not expecting realism, it's pretty cool and modern. The installation and hook up were very easy! It takes a minute to learn how to use the remote - it's not very intuitive. But the instructions are helpful and once you know, you know. So it's not a big deal. I'm excited for the heat of a real gas insert someday, but this is a delightful middle step!

Best electric Fireplace
After searching for months and returning one from a local store, I found my winner! This fireplace is not only beautiful but versatile. 1) the glass face is easy to remove but locked and very secure. Easy to remove to switch out from wood and crystal 2) WiFi was super easy to set up (fyi you need to hold the ON button down to activate the WiFi sync 3) Wood will be used in winter for a cosy feel and crystal in summer for more elegant vibes, love this! Like other have said and shown, more realistic I have seen in the market! 4) does not have the ugly orange coils when using the heater (this is a game changer) 5) the heat seemed like it was pushing out well and it seems to shoot out straight forward. It provides a great amount of heat but let’s be honest, it’s not a real fireplace. Also, the display show up when you are selecting your preferences but fades out. 6) the directions overall are very detailed, it’s like a book. 7) you can change the fire color, height of the fire, the wood color and tone of the wood color, light or dark. 8) the remote give a lot of feature including set time. 9) the APP is great and you can set up with Alexa/google. You can schedule to turn on at a specific day and time including repeat. Alexa can turn it on or off but to my understanding not the heat function. I assume for safety reasons. Overall, this is an amazing fireplace and no wonder it gets 5 stars on their website and on here. Highly recommend and it’s a great price for all the features. If you go on their website, they have a variety of styles to choose from. (Since others showed the flames here is a glimps of what the APP looks like.

Mounting, trim kit, many color options, heating
Great Product!. We had an existing fireplace and running a gas line was not an option as there is no basement or access points to get to the fireplace with gas! But it was a blessing really as this is much safer and much more stylish. I would have given 5 stars if Touchstone sold a "trim Kit" to go with this unit. Technically you don't need one if you are installing in a wall as the glass front acts as a finished trim. However, I was installing this in my existing fireplace that was a wood burning fireplace. The opening was 40.5"wide x 34" high. The unit measured 40x26.5 so we had to figure out what to do with the open areas. I did search far and wide and settled for a Valuxhome 40"x27" trim kit sold on Amazon. Luckily i had a handyman who was able to construct a piece out of the old glass door/metal frame that was there for the wood burning. Overall it came out perfect. I may have missed it in the description but the unit comes with faux logs already installed that come out easily and you can replace them with clear crystals OR they also gave white stones. Not bad to have 3 options. the glass front is somewhat easy to remove. it hooks in and there are 2 screws on either side to keep it in place. the screws are NOT easy to get to without a flexible screwdriver but not impossible either. We opted for the clear crystals as they look very nice with the 12 LED color options and there are 23 flame options. My handyman was able to run electric from a switch in the garage to put a plug behind the unit, so if you cant do that then you will see a cord coming out of the unit to plug in to a wall outlet. It would be nice to have an option for crackling log sound but you really don't need it. The heat works great also. The room it is in has baseboard heat but its has 3 outdoor walls and skylights so it gets very cold and struggles to stay warm. The addition of this unit supplements the baseboard and works great. 2 heat options, low and high and a lot of options for timers and temperature. If you are looking to mount this in a wall then you really don't need to worry about a trim kit.

Attractive, elegant fireplace
It helped transform our space to a nice media fire wall. The installation was easy. The app and WiFi feature was one of the deciding factors. It works flawlessly.

Cozy Fireplace Insert
I recently purchased this fireplace and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. The design is sleek and elegant, giving my living room a cozy and inviting atmosphere. It blends so nicely with my Christmas decor! When it comes to heating, it really excels! Within just a short time of being turned on, the insert generates a comfortable warmth that significantly enhances the overall room temperature. I noticed that even on chilly evenings, it keeps the entire area cozy without needing to rely solely on central heating. Additionally, the installation process was straightforward, and the user-friendly controls make it easy to adjust settings. Whether you want a romantic glow or a significant heat boost, this insert delivers on both fronts. Overall, I highly recommend this fireplace insert for anyone looking to add some charm and warmth to their home!

Stunning unit
Research: I went to a local store that had a number of different fireplaces on display. I ended up ordering the touchstone as it seemed to best balance cost + asthetics. This indeed turned out to the case. The Sideline flames look better than any of the other brands I checked out. I was also very pleased that they had a 100" available and the price is very good relative to the competition, coming in at several hundred less. Buying via Prime gave me extra piece of mind and I took out the extra warranty. Delivery: the unit was snugly strapped to a linear pallet, which preserved it from any damage and made moving it around much easier. It was sent via UPS freight and they did a good job. Installation: this is a cumbersome unit that will bode well with two people. Or if you're like me and impatient/impetuous, I managed on my own, but I was VERY careful. One wrong move and that glass facade goes bye-bye, or you drop and ding/damage the metal housing. Installation was actually a piece of cake once I carved out the opening in the drywall. My one issue: so, as they suggested you do, and I'm glad I did BEFORE installation, I plugged the unit in to test it. At first I thought it was simulated embers crackling, but then I realized my unit is making a horrible grinding noise. I was able to peer inside and see that the "flame rod" was not attached on one end of the unit and was just kind of spinning out of its socket and scraping the metal housing. I thought it was bent, but after TouchStone customer service replied (very quickly), they gave me a supplemental guide on how to open the unit and fix the flame rod. A bit of a pain in the butt removing like 50 screws from the back of the unit, enough that was the issue. Fortunately, it was not bent, it just needed to be mounted back within the bracket/bushing. what I did note is there was no way this could have happened during shipping, nor could that have just popped out of that bracket. It was readily apparent that this was a quality control issue at the factory. So I let them know, and hey, I guess crap happens. Fortunately, it was an easy fix so I didn't have to sending unit back or have a repair person come out. I do admit it also gave me an opportunity to really study the guts of the unit and understand how it works... I think this knowledge will bode well for maintaining the unit over the years. I noted other people's reviews mention grinding noises and they may not have realized they had the same issue going on with a dislodged flame rod. When it's installed and working properly, it is virtually silent (without heat on). Final installation: so once I got through the adventure above and got it installed... It looks absolutely fantastic. What I love... I think the flames are extremely realistic looking. They give you the option of putting down little bit of fake crystals, or I'm using the fake wood which actually looks really cool. I also like that there are multiple dimming options, and one of the most important reasons I chose this unit, I love the blue-only flames. So if I just wanted in regular "fireplace" mode, I just put on the orange flames. But when watching a movie it's really cool to put it on the dim blue flames only; not too obtrusive, and a really cool look. I live in Florida, so honestly, other than maybe a few weeks out of the year at best, I won't really be using the heat. Thus sorry I can't comment on that aspect yet. I'll upload pics when the project is completed and the stone ledger is installed around it.
