These fit a canoe perfectly and are well made and well put together. Made the canoe extremely stable so my very small kids could run amd jump around no worries. We even went through class 1 and 2 rapids (small stuff) on the delaware with them on and they made it super enjoyable because we didn't have to keep worrying about stability and telling the kids to stay low. I strapped them to the yoke of the canoe using ikea style tension straps. Had to wet the straps first so they wouldn't lose tension halfway through but it was no issue. Even if the straps loosen a bit the canoe is still stable with this design. I am 200 lbs and was able to easily get back in the canoe from a swim with these things on. Plus it was easy getting the kids in and out of the water with them, so they got a few nice swim breaks throughout our trip. They sit an inch or two deep in the water when installed, causing a good amount of drag since they are so short. This is great when with kids or large dogs as it makes the canoe extremely stable. But I might consider making a spacer out of a small peice of 2x4 next time to lift them up a few inches higher, so they just barely skim the surface when the boat is flat, and only dig in and cause drag when heeled over a bit. Or maybe ill just mount them sideways or upside down to get the same effect. I think these would allow a canoe to safely go into coastal bays and larger lakes even when the water is cold, and are excellent for fishing because you can stand up in the boat to cast or catch a fish no problem. I wouldn't take them out in particularly rough water but they did fine in 1 - 2 foot waves/rapids. They are too short, fat and draggy for a sailing or motor rig though in my opinion. A minor issue we had was one of the pins that keeps the floats fell off my first time using it, but there is enough friction alone to hold the floats on at least for a while (it was fine for a 6 mile river trip without it). Ill probably replace it with a through bolt and nylon lock nut in the future.

I have an 85 pound, 2 year old Labrador retriever that loves to go canoeing but it's been life and death with her in the boat until I got these outriggers. I had to custom adapt the outrigger mounting rail to our canoe - I expected to have to do that before I ordered the set. I'm a DIYer by nature so it wasn't too difficult to adapt the mounting rail to our boat, YMMV. Once the rail is attached, the outriggers can be installed and removed without any tools in under 2 minutes. When the outriggers are installed the canoe is rock stable. "Puppy" can stand with front paws on the gunwale and the the boat barely shifts. I just can't say enough about how amazingly well these work! I never used to take fishing gear when canoeing with puppy for fear of losing everything in a capsize, but now I have complete confidence and a new 4-legged fishing buddy. These outriggers are worth every penny, I highly recommend them.

High quality, work well when used correctly. Mounting required 4 holes to be drilled in canoe and 2 U bolts but highly recommend to someone trying to stabilize their canoe. Easy to use, very stable, easy to put together, rubber fits tight like it should assuring snug fitment on poles.

These work really well. I’m now able to stand comfortably on my fishing kayak and it is a game changer. However, you need to be very mindful when installing them to make sure you don’t really mess up your kayak. It does NOT come with any installation hardware or instruction. You will need to improvise. Here is what I came up with and it seemed to work really well. I used four 1/8” toggle bolts as shown in the photos. Make sure to cover the threads in some low strength thread compound, and don’t overtighten them. I don’t recommend using only one fastener per side, you run the risk of it ripping through your kayak’s skin. Definitely use at least two per side. I would have used three if I could. The floats apply a lot of upward force, especially when you stand or hit choppy water, so there is no such thing as overdoing it here. Last thing you want is to blow open your kayak and have it take on water while you’re enjoying your day.

This was a great value,it will serve it's purpose. However because it's a inflateable hole is bound to happen. It arrive I blew it up and it had a hole by the seem line. It came with patches so we fix it. Would have sent it back but needed for an outting.

Works great and way more durable than I expected

When I first went out with my kayak, it felt as if I was going to turn over. I couldn't even swing around to grab my tackle behind me. These outriggers made my kayak stable enough to be able stand up in my kayak.

I know that if I leave a positive review, the product will soon go up in price, but these kayak cushions are really great.😉

testati per la prima volta con 50/60 cm di onda lunga. danno al kayak una stabilità incredibile, considerando che ho un big mama s300 quindi stretto e corto, anche mettendo il peso su un solo lato non si muove di un centimetro. aiutano anche durante le jerkate se si pesca a spinning evitando la rotazione della prua. unico lato negativo un po' scomodi da montare mentre si è in acqua ed ovviamente rallentano un po' durante gli spostamenti

Es el mas barato que he encontrado y cumple perfectamente su función de estabilizar el kayak, trae dos "sujetaremos" con mosquetón que supongo que será para sujetar las barras estabilizadoras, pero yo creo que no lo necesita así que le doy otro uso, siempre vienen bien en un kayak. El soporte se une al kayak mediante 2 tornillos incluidos, no lo he probado pero a mi me pareció poco fuerte así que me trabaje una tabla para unirlo al kayak con cuatro tornillos y dos pernos en "u" para la barra de motor, puedo levantar el kayak por las barras estabilizadoras y se siente fuerte, y por supuesto en el mar con olas también, facilitando mucho subirse al kayak desde el agua. trae un kit de reparación, a mi me llego muy espachurrado así que no se si servirá, no obstante yo prefiero no necesitarlo y en su caso mejor el pegamento náutico. En mi caso tienen mas o menos el mismo calado que el kayak lo que lo ralentiza un poco. Aunque no viene para poder ajustar la altura, creo que me lo currare otro poco con la tabla para ponerlo mas alto y que estabilice solo cuando lo necesito evitando la perdida de autonomía de la batería y el esfuerzo adicional de la palada. En resumen estoy contento con la compra pero si buscáis algo para atornillar y listo, no se el resultado que dará, algunos clientes dicen que se les sale el tornillo con las olas, creo que es un problema mas del kayak que del estabilizador, pero aun así no he querido probarlo.
