Yum Asia 304 Stainless Steel Rice Washing Bowl (22cm) with Silicone Base and Handle

I bought this after owning a Yum Asia rice cooker for a few years and having my eye on it for a while. At first my partner wasn’t convinced it was necessary and I took a bit of slack for buying it, but that changed very quickly once she actually used it. The design is really well thought out. The non-slip silicone base keeps it steady while rinsing, and it makes washing rice easy without losing any grains. The stainless steel feels high quality and well finished, and it’s very easy to clean after use. The handle is comfortable and the whole bowl just feels solid and nicely made. It’s one of those simple tools that doesn’t seem essential until you try it. For the price, the value for money is very good considering the quality and how often it gets used. A genuinely useful kitchen accessory if you cook rice regularly.

I eat a lot of rice and investing in a rice cooker was a great decision for me, so getting a good rice washing bowl was essential. I had a plastic one for a few years but it didn't drain very well and the starch from the rice would block the holes. This stainless steel one is easier to clean and more hygienic and it can go in the dishwasher. There's holes in the side about half way up and a lip over part of the top to help keep your rice in when you tip it up to drain and the handle makes it easier to move around between sink and rice cooker without spilling water everywhere. There's a patten on the bottom of the bowl part that helps to aggravate the rice grains when you stir it up with your hand and get the starch off better, can't fault it honestly. I know some people say we don't need to wash our rice in the UK, but as someone who eats a lot of rice from different shops I can confirm we do. Some are fine but others have rice weevils even after I have bought them new and opened it the same day so its always better to wash it. I am able to reserve the rice water to water my plants with as well!

Excellent rice strainer/cleaner. The only annoying thing is that rice sometimes gets stuck in the small holes but not sure if I can really blame that on the product itself.

Bought this after buying the yum Asia rice cooker. Really impressed with the quality and practicality. Washes rice easily without spilling water and rice everywhere, perfect design. Really impressed with Yum Asia products.

Very good product. Small enough to easily fit inside a cupboard with other medium size bowls. Has a silicone handle and base. There are also little raised bumps in the bottom of the bowl to help agitate the rice and wash away all the starch. We use this with a rice cooker from the same brand. There is a lip that prevents your rice washing away as you strain it out the holes in the side. All in all, a very useful (if slightly bougie) product.

Great for washing rice, I used to use a sieve and there is always some rice stuck between the net and the rim and they are a nightmare to remove. Tis bowl just d o the job perfectly, easy to use and clean after. I wish I buy it earlier.

They’re fine. I like that they let you empty the water without the rice falling out as well but the holes in the basket are too big so the rice does get stuck which is annoying. I don’t really use it anymore to wash rice. I just use the bowl that came with the cooker instead. Wouldn’t buy again.

A première vue je me suis dis que le prix de ce bol à rincer le riz était vraiment excessif mais il est tellement génial, efficace et facile à utiliser et laver que le prix est vite oublié. La poignée est agréable avec sa matière silicone, elle tient bien en main et la base également en silicone fait que le bol tient bien en place et ne risque pas de tomber quand on le pose. Le fond texturé du bol aide vraiment bien a rincer le riz efficacement tout en créant facilement un petit tourbillon. Mon riz basmati n'est pas passé à travers les trous de drainage 👍 Je suis vraiment ravie.

Ich dachte erst, meine Güte, wozu ein so teures Sieb zum Reis waschen ? Aber beim Prime Day war es mir dann den Preis wert. Bisher benutzte ich die Kochschüssel vom Yum Asia Bamboo Reiskocher zum Reis waschen. Aber dieses Sieb ist durchdacht, der profilierte Boden wäscht den Reis beim Umrühren mit der Hand wie eine Waschmaschinentrommel. Recht effizient, man kommt mit weniger Durchgängen aus. Und das Abgießen funktioniert auch super, ohne dass der Reis abhanden kommt.
