Lodge 12.7 cm / 5 inch Heat-Treated Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Mini Round Skillet/Frying Pan, H5MS,Black

Bought as a present for my son in law. He and my daughter love it. Robust, very practical so heavy to lift but well made.. I was given a similar used set of 3 pans over 35 years ago and we still use them almost every day. And no Teflon.

I bought this as a tester for Lodge. It feels like home when cooking in this pan. It has that old times aroma, wilderness, and warmth to it. I tried different dishes and all worked perfectly. After few uses I realized that the black color faded away a bit, but then a bit of olive oil after the wash as every other time saved it. I am still observing this and learning how to take care of this pan. I never used extra oil. Just what was on the surface from seasoning. I used a bit of water for veggies. Meat didn't need anything since it cooked in its fat and juices(pardon me vegans). Also excuse my hob. "holiday business"

There are times when I have three hobs with things on them, ( eg griddle pan, saucepan, chip pan), & I want a fried egg to accompany the other ingredients I'm cooking......but so little space to fit in another frying pan. This is the perfect solution: a mini pan just big enough for an egg. It heats up quickly & evenly, it becomes more non-stick the more it's used, easy to wash in hot water with no detergent, & simple to keep it in pristine condition by just drying it & applying a thin layer of oil. And it is also such a beautiful little thing, the design so lovely. It seems to be quite expensive, but then you pay for quality.

I bought it mainly for Omelettes and am extremely happy with it, make sure to season it before first use, I smeared it lightly with sunflower oil and baked it in the oven at 200c for 1 hr and let it cool in the Oven, there are come great videos on you tube with Kent Rollins if you are unsure how to use and maintain

I like this little pan but even after seasoning well it is still not exactly non-stick like my other cast iron cookware. I will persevere.

Perfect size for frying eggs or warming up food for 1 person instead of using the microwave or a non stick coated pan. Even heat distribution and holds the heat for longer. Healthier option and easy to care for as well. Came pre seasoned and will be buying more cookware from lodge when needed.

Absolutely perfect little skillet! Make sure to season it and follow instructions to create a natural non stick surface and to protect it from rust! This skillet will last you forever and will only get better in time.

It's actually smaller in person, but great for eggs in the morning. Clean-up is a breeze too and I had it seasoned in no time.
