The first thing you realize is how big it is. But the second thing you realize is that it is made in China. While the price tag is justifiable if it is made locally. Even Rufus was misled... Winco is made in China.

Openings are TOO BIG. Cooked frozen peas go right through. Fine for large items like deep fired items but not peas or spaghetti, etc.

Fits my 5qt cast iron pot for easy deep fry, see photo. The handle is a bit oversized but extremely sturdy to lower/raise chicken parts, not bendy or flimsy at all. The end of the handle has a folded down loop to grip solidly with an oven mitt and to hang. Exactly what I was looking for, better than the lame spiders sold locally.
