Great for goths!
Dylon Intense Black is a reliable choice for achieving a truly deep black on clothing. As a goth who favours a consistently dark wardrobe, the results were really impressive! The application process was so straightforward. You just put it in the washing machine like a regular wash, and let it do it's thing. The dye effectively revitalised my faded black garments to a rich, intense shade. I even managed to dye a white dress jet black, and it came out perfectly! For those seeking a super simple to use product that delivers a proper, lasting black, this dye is definitely a worthwhile option. Consistent coverage, intense black, and just put it on a wash cycle to apply. I love it! I've included a photo of the dress in question, with how it looked before on the bottom left of the photo.

Fantastic intense result on linen, easy to use as well.
Fantastic result, deep intense black on a linen outfit and easy to use in the machine. It is important to weigh fabrics (I used two packs for 850g of clothing, and to remember you will only get intense results on cotton, not man made fabrics. Very impressed compared to times in the past I have tried to dye black.

Decent results. Watch out for leftover dye!
Bought this to add some more life into my very faded black denim skirt and shorts! My jeans had streaks after only a few washes so wanted to fix this too. They recommend one whole packet for 500g (about one pair of jeans) to full colour but as I was only retouching, I thought I’d add a black top that had a bleach mark on and a green cap I don’t wear as I don’t like the colour too! For reference, these are all a UK size 10. You can see the before and after photos but I’ll summarise below. Shorts & skirt: very impressed with how these turned out! Look brand new! Jeans: you can still see some of the faded streaks from before but they are less obvious and overall I’m pleased. Next time I’ll use a whole packet and just the jeans to get better results. Top: slight improvement on the bleach mark but not enough to wear sadly. It did say on the back of a packet that it could not guarantee fixing bleach stains. Cap: love how this turned out! Really liked how the writing wasn’t affected! Has a green tinge but I did have a few items in the wash. Will dye again another time with other items. The last two photos were taken after an empty wash of the washing machine to clean it. As others have mentioned, it does require a lot of machine washes - once to clean the clothes, then to dye them and then to wash the excess dye out of the clothes and clean the machine. It doesn’t say to run the machine empty to clean it but I did anyway. This can decrease the environmental benefit of not buying new clothes slightly. Even after I put the machine on for a quick wash when it was empty, there was a lot of dye left in the rubber seal which you can see so be warned! I managed to clean this with a paper towel though and then did a dark wash and all of my clothes were fine. Overall good product and I do recommend! Fewer the items the better but as you can see form my pictures you can put quite a few items in and get decent results! I will update my review after a few wears and washes to see how well the dye stays.

No use on plastic based clothes or material
Top notch , I split it between two sets of large curtains and it made them jet black . They were a cotton blend but a very faded black and now they look new . Its a good product . I'm very happy with the result, doesn't work on plastic material.

IT WORK PERFECTLY, but...
...you need to follow the instructions. The pack says that it works for 500gr of clothes and I knew I had way more. I bought three bags to cover 1.5kg and I made sure that I weighted the same amount. The result was mind-blowing. One the clothes was a camouflage pair of trousers and they are now totally black now! I wish I had taken "before and after" photos! Another thing is that this product works very well on 100% cotton fabric. I also coloured a pair of brown shorts which the stitching probably wasn't cotton. The result is that now the fabric is black but not the stitching.

Don't do it, let my tale be a warning.
Firstly, yes it dyed my jeans nicely. 1 packet for two pairs gave a nice dark colour, i have not yet had the next wash which im sure will be hell with the dye, please read on to see why. Do not use this if you have a front loader. Modern washing machines do not fill with water anymore meaning that even on a machine clean setting its not going to get the dye out of your rubber seal. Ive done countless run through and still getting a grey colour-catcher sheet after two days of it. Have attacked it with bleach, scrubbed every inch of the seal and now letting washer soak on paused rinse, hoping this is the end. Also it has totally stained my rubber seal, the bit you can always see. DO NOT DO IT!
