Viair is pretty much the industry gold standard. You're buying quality.
I have been a user of Viair compressors for over 15 years. They are solid workhorses, and worth every penny. Don't waste your money on knock off clones or junk, these are the gold standard in 12v air supply for a reason. I prefer the black ones over the chrome, but both work exceptionally well, and its a matter of visual preference only. They will run up to 200psi, and I have them hooked up to 8 gallons of tank volume. They have never left me stranded. The ONLY downside is the check valves dont have as long of a lifespan as these compressors. Ive changed them multiple times over the years. The compressors however, I have some that have been steadily pumping since 08. Yes...2008.

Viar Compressors are always pretty good
I bought this two pack because I was going g to put on board air on both my Jeep and my Wife's. They work well. We fabled up our own kit with other pieces and parts from here as well and everything works well. These compressors have good output for their size. I'm only running a 90/120 PSI switch with a small tank. It will run tools with some charge up time if you have a bigger tank, like over 2.5 gallon.

Great
Had to replace my old 444c's after five years..the new ones are excellent I forgot how fast a good set fills up the tank

Great compressors!

Fast accurate shipping but inner packaging is too weak for such an expensive part.
Product looks great but hopefully it works great. Poor packaging material (foam). Needs better protective foam or padding.

Quick reliable compressors
Great compressors for a great price, about $20 cheaper on Amazon than locally or any other online store. I use these for air ride on my truck and they are very reliable, durable, and quick to recover my 6 gallon air tank. Have been using Viair since 2005 and will continue to do so. The two Viair 450C compressors I had on my truck just died after 13 years of use, pretty good if you ask me.

Not Completely Perfect, but the Best There Is
I did a real-world bench test on the pair I received prior to refabricating the wires and mounting them. Power was provided by three Group 31s batteries and a 110-555 160-amp Leece-Neville with the engine idling at 1600-rpm, so plenty of juice. Unit #1 filled an 8-1/2 Gallon portable air tank (plumbed straight into the tank) to 125-PSI in 10 minutes --- 150-PSI in 13m15s; my gauge maxed at 160 so I cannot attest to what happens above that. Unit #2 - 130-PSI in 10 minutes --- 150-PSI in 12m30s So, there is variance from one unit to the next. The body of both units was cool to the touch after each test and the motors had not slowed in the least at 150-PSI, so I have no doubts that 200-PSI is easily achievable. I like the compressors and am well pleased with them. What I don't like: One of my units was assembled in a twist and rocks on the bench like a chair with a short leg; I could see no non-invasive means of correcting this, so the high leg has two 1/4-inch flat washer shims to make it sit level. This should never have gotten past quality control. They have changed it since I ordered, but the item description, the included instructions, and many of the reviews I read led me to believe that I was to get two lengths of hose for remote mounting the air filters = I did not receive these hoses and when I made mention of it I got the run-around and no hoses. In this day and age of UPS truck follower- bandits, I can fully understand why signing for delivery was required and can respect that; however, I was not previously made aware of that fact and I just by chance happened to meet the UPS man coming out my lane; had I been a few seconds later, I would not have received my compressors that day and the UPS man would have wasted his trip; had I have known a signature was necessary, I would have made arrangements to be there. The mounting screws are tiny; and, the design of the mounts does not lend itself to enlarging the holes and using more suitable bolts. The provided screws are not stainless; this should have been a given on a shiny chrome compressor. The wires exit the unit with no flex-guards nor other means of protection and will soon have the insulation cracked right where the wires exit the unit; I fabricated my own flex-guards. The insulation on the wires did not give me much confidence and is more akin to something on a cheap oriental product. Instead of a good two-wire pigtail connector, a wimpy female spade is what is provided. Considering that the compressors are shiny chrome and the attached air-hose is an impressive braided stainless affair, the two wires just poking out the end of the unit looks cheap and cheapens the appearance of the whole assembly; at the least, these wires should have been in an insulated jacket as a single cable, complete with flex-guard; and better yet, should have been inside a flexible stainless conduit; doing so should not have added any more than ten bucks or so to the cost and it is not like VIAIR is in a price war or has any competitors. One of these units replaced an elcheapo unit that would not inflate a beach ball; it is plumbed into a five-gallon tank that was already there and in use. It is nice to finally have a compressor on my truck that will stand and deliver; and, by all indications, should continue to do so. The second unit I intend to use as a portable until such time as I take a wild hair to either double-mount it on my truck, or install it on one of the other trucks I have. A single of these is more than sufficient to keep a ten or so gallon tank pressurized for occasionally blowing the horns, blowing dirt out of something, and topping off the occasional low or flat tire. I cannot attest as to longevity on the units I received; we will let that ride on the coat-tails of VIAIR's well-deserved reputation. I am very pleased and impressed with my compressors; but, the cons I mentioned need be addressed for something so close to perfect as this.

It's viair of course it's a 5 star rating. These pumps are the best been using them for 2 years now and still work perfectly. The chrome finish is gone since they are mounted on my frame rails but still operate great. Using this kit to fill a 5gal tank that is used for air tools and air bags. No complaints about performance

Works perfect I have a viair 275 C for my BD exhaust brake and added a400 C and a 2 1/2 gallon tank for tires and air tools but when 444 viairs came on sale I added them along with another 5 gallon tank so I definately have more and enough power to run anything I want plus I find all the compressors run less than they normally would so they should last longer. I only run my system at 150 and my 400C and 275 C are on a different circuit than my 444S but both air systems can be run together or seperately. Plus all compressors run on their own relays and circuit breakers
