Cost effective way of dealing with flies
Effective way of dealing with fly problems do not leave on your window for more than 4-5 months at a time as a very hard to remove but a good product overall.

This is a pretty piece of equipment but proved usesless against fruit fly ...
This is a pretty piece of equipment but proved usesless against fruit fly in my kitchen. When I realised my mistake I went online and discovered that I could make a much better trap. A pint glass, coffee filter and elastic band to hold the filter in place are the hardware. Make a small hole in the filter to let the flies in to sup. Add a few inches max of wine vinegar and pour a little washing up liquid in.Not only will the flies be trapped in the glass but they will drown themselves in the liquid, unlike in this product. For further info, simple Google: fruit fly trap.

Poor value for money and stuck together
Small, you only get 3, and the backing paper did not want to come off and left me desperately trying to seperate the stuck-together layers which also left glue smudges on the window. In contrast I bought a non branded pack of 30 much bigger strips for only twice the price of these 3 small ones, and those separated well from their backing. I'm sure flies will get stuck to them but the fact the paper is stuck to the adhesive is just too big a problem to justify the price of only 3 small panels.

Great! Does exactly what it says on the artificial lemon...
We "lost" a bag of potatoes in the pantry a few weeks ago. The fruit flies found them and we had a biblical plague of the little beggars who then moved into the fruit bowl for a winter break. This thing caught most of them. It contains a thick vinegar like substance. They love it! Unfortunately for them, they love it so much they drown in it. Must be a lovely way to go if you are a fruit fly - completely organic. You make a hole in the top, place it next to something like your fruit bowl where the flies hang out and that's it. We caught hundreds and you can see the walls again now. Recommended. Doesn't work for bluebottles and normal sized flies, only tiny fruit flies... UPDATE : there are a few of things you should note about this fly trap. 1 - it only works for fruit flies. These are the tiny flies that breed in fruit and vinegar. It won't work for larger flies or blackfly, white flies, green flies, etc 2 - if it's not working, you might need to make the hole in the top a bit bigger. 3 - it works best if you put it near the source of infestation like the fruit bowl 4 - make sure you find the source of the infestation and get rid of it - the mouldy fruit or vegetables. Otherwise you don't break the life cycle.

No Mr Fly, I expect you to die!
The ad says flies are attracted to this - well maybe in a dust free laboratory scenario where they have nothing else of interest, because in my kitchen they are attracted to literally everything except these. I have 2 up on the windows and one stuck to the top of my kitchen island where they are particularly keen to wander, and so far they mostly seem to like to just walk around them. In 2 days only one unfortunate soul has been stupid enough to land on it, and although I have no qualms about killing things, I have to say it was fairly traumatic to watch it straining it's little legs every now and again to try to get free. In the end I had to go execute the poor bugger by crushing its head with a pair of pliers, like some dastardly James Bond villain of the fly world! 2 stars because at least they come off the window pretty easily.
