Earpads for Sony WH-1000XM4

The earpads on my Sony WH-1000XM4 weared out quit a bit. I ordered these as a replacement and now my headphones look like new! They fit perfectly and almost same as the originals. There are some differences in materials when you look at the back. But these are as good as original, no problem whatsoever. Easy to replace, just make sure it clicks in all the way when you put them back.

I bought these as a replacement for my sony xm4 earpads as i worked out with these headphones a lot and they started having a bad odor to them. As replacements i would say they get the job done although i wouldn’t call them exact replacements. I have only had them for a couple of days but i feel in time they will fit better but for now the only differences are the texture, color, and cushion. The texture and color don’t exactly match although i will say some people might find them better they are black and to other people will appear the same but looking at them and feeling them after owning the original for a while you can tell the difference also the cushion is more stiff but i would say this is due to the lack of time owning these as they are brand new. Overall they are good replacement for the sony xm4 earpads but they are not exact replicas of the original. Also they do sound a little different but you’ll get used to it quickly it’s not noticeable really.

I didnt know you were suppose to change these. Im so glad I did my headphones feel brand new. It improved the noise canceling and sound.

Generally, excellent product (while reserving judgement on durability). Out of the package...wait. WHY DOES IT SAY BOSE QUIET COMFORT IN THE PACKAGE WHEN I EXPLICITLY ORDERED THESE FOR MY 1000XM4s? Because the wrong slip and instructions are in the pouch. That's it. End of crisis, qualm aside. After getting that out of the way, these replacement earcups were a breeze.PICTURES: headphone displayed are Sony 1000XM4s. The left ear pad is the replacement (the one with the sensor) and the right one is stock. If there's any difference, it's minimal to indiscernible, aesthetically.INSTALL: Do not use the directions given - they're inaccurate as to what holds the ear cups in place.Instead: there's a removal tool (flimsy, so be careful to make sure the angled edge of the business end of the tool is all the way below the edge of the original earcup before giving it any leverage) which makes getting the ear cups on the unit off fairly easy. Once the tool is under the bottom edge, I shimmied it along the ear cup's edge in the housing (starting at the 7 o'clock position then moving counterclockwise because I wanted the sensor to the be the last piece to have to pull off). The replacement pads popped in without fuss, and a quick press down to make sure the clips were engaged saw the entire process to be carefully handled in 2 minutes.PERFORMANCE/QUALITY: no difference on first use from original parts.AS FOR THE LITERATURE DISCREPANCY: nothing to worry about, though the claims made as being of superior quality to the original ear cups is mere puffery (see "Protein Leather" and "Memory Foam" boasts) at best. They're comparable, straight out of the package anyway.My overly critical verbiage above aside, the ear cups met and possibly exceeded my expectations. For that, 5 stars.

Bought these around 2 months ago and they're already starting lose their cushiness. I use my headphones daily. The original ones lasted close to a year. So sad that these are losing their comfort so quickly

It definitely got the job done.My old stock pads were starting to smell horrendous on my XM4s and so I was looking for a replacement. I decided to jump the gun with these because they were the cheapest.My only complaint is that the ear pads I received was not a perfect fit and stuck out from the side a little. Not sure if it's a defect or not but as long as I don't stare at it I'll be fine.**Edit: The seller reached out to me with a solution so I'm adding an extra star for the prompt customer service.
