Optical Power Meter +6 to -70dBm W/ 10mW Visual Fault Locator Fiber Optic Cable Tester/FC Male-LC Female Adapter

I used this to troubleshoot an existing installation of multimode fiber with SC connectors in a Crestron digital video distribution system. I was able to determine a cable had a problem with the meter on the cable while hooked up to the switcher on the other end and comparing to a known good cable. Upon putting the test light on the cable, the other end clearly showed a failed termination as the body of the connector was glowing red and light wasn't even coming out of the end of the connector. Pretty simple and straight-forward to operate.

Just received the pair, great that they offered the fault locator with the meter, i wander how many buy the meter then find out they need a light source. I will follow up on this review after I have used it on a job. First order of business is to find and download a manual for the meter.

Both items in the kit worked as advertised. Helped very much in a recent fiber restructuring project.
