A useful book to have if you're new to the art of bonsai; and nice to have if you're not! Lots of lovely colour photos, with advice on choosing the right tree or shrub for you, with photos of the most suitable bonsai plants. Pruning techniques are shown, different styles of tree, displaying bonsai, pots and containers, care and maintenance, and the history of bonsai. A very thorough guide to bonsai and beautiful photographs.

As someone dabbling with growing Bonsai this book has a lot of great info and the pics are great. For anyone interested in growing Bonsai from seed though, there are better resources out there; thus only touches briefly on germination.

I think this is book is one of the most detailed books in terms of general care from the ones that I've found, really good for a beginner as it has entries about what to do in each season. Not as extensive with regards to the number of tree species but for a beginner should be more than enough information.

This was a gift for my daughter-in-law who is amazing with plants of all kinds! I bought a bonsai seed growing kit for her from Amazon, and thought this would be helpful. She loved it!

Full of how-tos ranging from starting from seed, indoor versus outdoor bonsai, training and pruning, with photos of beautiful specimins - together with their ages, which show just how patient you must be.
