They are quite delicate and will not function on a carpeted floor, Only on a hard floor or surface. Inserting & changing the batteries was a bit of a mission. However they have a good life span and operate well .

Movement was so real it was creepy

Works on tile. Haven't changed batteries yet and it's been months. Most of my students love it. We use it as a visual. They get aggressive or loud and the spider runs around, and they calm down so the spider will calm down.
