Electric guitar
I purchased this guitar for a friend's daughter and she absolutely loved it. It came well packaged and us top quality in construction and sound. A great buy for the price.

Great Gift with Amazing Sound—Now We’re Both Learning!
I got this Donner bass guitar as a reward for my daughter’s great grades, and it was a hit from day one. She loved it, and honestly I was surprised by how solid the sound quality is for the price. This doesn’t feel like a “starter” bass in a bad way. It plays clean and looks sharp. While she’s at school, I’ve been sneaking in some learning time myself. The included online lessons are a nice touch, and the whole kit (strap, cable, case) makes it easy to get started right out of the box. Great value, great sound—now we’ve both got a new hobby.

FROM A PRO BASS PLAYER. FINE INSTRUMENT
I STARTED PLAYING BASS IN 1963. I HAVE HAD MANY TOP END BASSES. I LEARNED TO WORK ON MY OWN GUITARS THROUGH THE YEARS. I ORDERED THE SUNBURST DONNER P BASS. I WAS QUITE PLAYABLE RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX, I WAS IMPRESSED RIGHT AWAY! INTONATION WAS PERFECT, THE FRET ENDS WERE A BIT SHARP, AND NEEDED A LITTLE FILING. EASY FIX (FOR ME). I ALWAYS PLAY FLAT WOUND STRINGS, SO I PUT ON SOME LABELLA FLATS..... THE DONNER BASS NEAR COMPARES TO ANY AMERICAN FENDER P BASS THAT I HAVE OWNED. (AT LEAST THE ONE THAT I GOT)> GREAT WORKMANSHIP TOO! I THINK THAT DONNER HAS 'UPPED' THEIR GAME, AND IS PUTTING OUT SOME PRETTY DARN GOOD PRODUCTS THESE DAYS ,AND HAS EARNED MORE RESPECT FROM ME FOR SURE.. update: after owning it for a month or so.......... THIS IS NOW MY 'GO TO' BASS I LOVE IT! AS I SAID, I MADE MY OWN MINOR ADJUSTMENTS TO THE GUITAR.

Is NOT Neck heavy
Some reviewer claimed it was neck heavy. I found, it is NOT neck heavy, rather perfectly balanced whether on a strap, or on my knee. (My strap is leather though, and the body side is rather rough and grippy. So there is that factor) I was reluctant when I read that "neck heavy" stuff, but glad I did not heed those words. The Guitar IS on the heavy side, for sure though, (about 10 pounds.) So yes, compaired to a six string electric guitar it is heavier, and it's longer too. But it IS a standard full size electric BASS guitar, so, it is, what it is. Basses are bigger, heavier, and longer than six strings guitars, for sure. I am 6' and 190 lbs and no problem for me. It's a fine instrument IMO. Well balanced. Just what I hoped it would be. I am having a lot of fun with it. I have a little Fender, Frontman, 10G practice AMP ($80) and this bass just does not play so well on that, for me. I don't dare turn it up full blast on that little amp, for fear this bass might blow the speakers. This 10G works very well for my six string though. Nice and small. Sweet for 6 string guitars A new FENDER BASS 40 AMP, that I ordered, arrived today though. ($200.). I DO like that 40 amp, for this bass. Some reviews say that the Fender bass amp plays on six string guitars OK too. I have not found very true for me. It sounds too deep, but truthfully, I have not fooled around with it much with my 6 string, and the bass amp does have a lot of settings. So maybe, (??) but I am sure my Fender, 10G is great for my 6 string, so I doubt I'll mess around using that with my bass anymore So anyway, I am in love with this Donner bass, so far. Everything works good, so far, for me. If I find anything negative about it later, I will come back and edit this review. 10/08/2022.

Good for first bass at least it stays in tune
The Bass seems decent and at first. I thought it was quiet and that the tone knob was not actually installed. Again that is what I thought.. Did my best to check out why it was acting this way and found the tone pot to be connected and that open tuning left the fretting further up the neck to be out or off by a noticeable bit. $120.00 (including strings because I figured why not) in set up later and poof great to practice on and most issues gone. It stays in tune surprisingly well and the tech was surprised how good the fret work on it was done. Quote "Can't believe it has no sharp spots and they aren't all over the place. For learning I wouldn't pay to dial them in." So the learning begins but the tone knob really doesn't do anything and I did not pay to have it looked into. After the tech said that it does not matter who you buy any type of guitar from or how much you pay for it the first thing you do is a set up and research all said the same thing, I am extremally happy with my first instrument. UPDATE 1 1/2 year review. it is my first bass and still my favorite solid body. I look at others but have not gotten a replacement because it just does the thing a P bass does, Always. The only thing I have had to do for upkeep was replace the nut. A year later and the soft plastic nut wore out. Had it replaces with bone nut. Stays in tune. When I got this I really thought I would replace it in a matter of months. Nope it is now my D standard tuned bass. I really enjoy it.

Far far better than expected. Good sound and construction. Better than some high end basses.

I was so happy to receive such a quality guitar, as I wasn’t familiar with this brand, and I have been through a lot of guitars over my 28 years of playing, lead 6 string guitars and Bass. The weight of it was surprisingly decent, as other reviews stated it felt heavier than most, but I’m quite comfortable with the weight, the fit and finish was flawless, action was great right out of the box, but might need a tweak to get it just right. Came with a nice strap, Allen keys and soft case. This was a straight up no frills great deal on a very nice bass I’d compare to a similarly priced Fender I’ve had in the past. Guitar was packaged very well, including fret foam to protect the neck and strings, as well as the satisfying peeling of the pick guard plastic wrap. Sound was as expected, nothing crazy just gets the job done. Guitar came fast and earlier than it was supposed too, extremely happy all around!!
