Kotobukiya Metal Gear Rex Metal Gear Solid Plastic Model Kit

With the assistance of a pair of clippers and a hobby knife, this model is really easy and fun to put together. Some small external parts, such as the smoke grenade canisters, are prone to falling off so you may want to consider a hint of polystyrene cement to glue them in place. The level of detail is astounding and the end result, even without painting, is just as intimidating as I remember it being. Exceptionally good value for money.

I am a bit of a geek. I love building model kits and though I managed to stave off this hobby for quite some time, discovering this Rex kit really put a hole in the boat. So, having built quite a number of model kits in my time, I have to make clear that this kit is by FAR the best quality I have ever encountered. The parts do not even require glue for assembly, yet they fit together almost perfectly. The tolerances on this kit are beyond impressive, and the final model itself is simply amazing. Fellow reviewers here seem to concur with me. This model is worth every single penny of the £90 or so I paid for it (though it seems the price has increased quite a bit since the release of MGSV). Essentially, this model is outstanding quality and as another reviewer has said already, it really is as intimidating as hell. This is a must-have for any nostalgic Metal Gear fan. Buy one before they go out of production. Well done, Kotobukiya.

very cool, arrived pretty quickly considering it came all the way from japan. while instructions weren't in English they are heavily picture based and easy to follow, and if you really need translations it's easy to google for translated manuals. The model itself has so much articulation as well, it's super cool. be prepared to set aside time to build, it takes a while, but it's very fun and satisfying, like super adult Lego.

So this arrived and I was elated, like a kid on xmas morning....a 27 year old kid made none the less.....but still a kid. The instructions are in Japanese but theres a PDF of them translated in English if you need them but the're very self explanatory. all you need for this is and exacto-knife and it just clicks together. Super, easy and fun!

If you are a metal gear fan or enjoy building model kits, this is for you. The detail is amazing and is extremely satisfying to build and to see the model take shape. The only thing I'll say about it in a negative way is that it's smaller than I though but whatever, its METAL GEAR REX! (Also note that you need to paint it yourself)

when this arrived i was so excited, i didn't waste any time assembling it and even though it took most of the day i greatly enjoyed the experience and will likely buy other kits as a result. this is a must have for fans of metal gear solid and modelers alike. it's engineering is fairly complicated which adds to the experience and makes it all the more fun. there are some clear plastic pieces that you will need to be careful with as they are very small and could be lost easily.

Best figure ever! Spent too much time 'shooting' friends and family with the rail gun before attatching it to the model. Needs a lick of paint once assembled, it's just so awesome!

プラモはほとんど作らない私が、メタルギア作品のファンという事で 購入。合せ目消しや墨入れなどやれるだけの事はやろうとチャレンジ。 結果プラモデル初心者の私でも非常に良い出来になりました。 コレはひとえに、コトブキヤキットの素晴らしさに尽きると思います。 合せ目等目立たない様に組めるので関心しながら組みました。 説明書では無塗装でも大丈夫と記載ありましたが、やはり塗装すると 断然見栄えがいいです。 レビューも掲載したのでよければ参考にどうぞ。

ein Jugend Traum wird wahr! Ich bin mit MGS groß geworden. Das Spiel aus meiner Kindheit. Ja ja der Rex aus MGS 1 und 4, Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob der im 2er auch vor kommt. Was mich richtig gestört hat an dem Modell ist der Versand und der ZOLL weil, die haben extra 50€ gekostet. Aber hey ich hab ein Rex aus MGS und alle meine Freunde "wow wo haste denn her?". Über 100 Teile und 6 Stunden hab ich gebraucht um ihn fertig zu machen. Es ist unglaublich, wie und was man alles an ihm bewegen kann. Kotobukiya hat eine sehr gute Arbeit gemacht. Das Radar, an der rechten Seite hätten sie ein bischen größer machen können. Es kommt mir zu klein vor Das Modell braucht eigentlich kein Kleber, aber einige Teile sollten geklebt werden. Sie abfallen immer wenn man Rex aus dem Glasschrank holt. Die Verarbeiung des Modell ist super, keine krummen Teile oder sonstige Mängel sind mir auf gefallen Meine Meinung: wenn dir die hohen Versandskosten und Zoll nix aus machen, dann ab damit in den Wagen und holl es dir!

Magnifica maqueta con muchísimos detalles de uno de los mechas que mas ha marcado mi infancia, perfecta para auténticos fans de la saga, divertido de montar, con unas instrucciones fáciles incluso estando el manual en japones. El precio un poco alto, pero en mi caso ha tenido que atravesar medio planeta para llegar a mi casa, a si que no puedo quejarme mucho. Sin duda alguna comprare el Metal Gear Ray y el Sahelanthropus
