Great deck building/Racing Board game
We played this for the first time yesterday and this is a great game for adults and kids. I would say kids around 10 would be able to enjoy playing the game with little helping, my 8 year old near the end of the game was doing her own turns and making her own decisions. My 6 year old was on my team. The Game can be played many different layouts which is, very fun because you will need to change the cards you add to your deck based on the map. Game arrived well with no dings or dints. Plays only up to 4 players.

Fun Deck-building meets racing
If you have played any sort of deck-building game or are looking into getting one I would say this is a good one to pick up. It's easy to learn, however there was one rule that gave us a hiccup mainly because in most other deck-building games you have to discard your hand at the end of your turn, but in this game you can choose to keep some cards if you didn't use them to possibly help you on the next turn. As is the case for most deck-builders everyone starts with the same deck, and the same setup for the "market" is used each time so you would think games would feel "samey". That is not the case since the map can be changed everytime you play since it's made of these big hexagons that are double sided and it even comes with some half pieces to add to make it even more exciting and different. Pros: Easy to learn Quick(Most of our games after setup took maybe about 30 to 40 minutes.) Lots of replayability with the how the map can be laid out. This version comes with two mini expansions that I think were promos or something like that. We haven't played with the Caves one but the three extra stacks of cards are neat. Neutral: The starting market always being the same can be a bit annoying but since the board can be so easily changed it makes it a decent constant and helps with planning and strategy. I'm not sure if the big expansion is compatible with this version or not. Cons: This version has terrible storage, I had to use some extra bag from other games to store this game properly. One of my pieces were broken when I got it but a drop of crafting glue fixed it no problem. Overall: 8/10 Great game, I enjoy racing games and deck-building games, so combining the two is a good time for me and my friends.

Better than Heat: Pedal to the Metal
I was pleasantly surprised with Heat: Pedal to the Medal when it first came out. Finally there was a racing game that was genuinely good with thematic mechanisms that made sense! So when I got this game recently, I was not expecting it to be as good. I was wrong. Unlike Heat, this game has near endless modular tracks which you can create on the fly and at will. I had one where on the second tile, it forced everyone to go through a single 4 paddle hex! It forced you to change how you open and specifically aim for certain solutions to pull it off. I love this aspect of the game. The cave systems is also great since it adds a random spice to the game that often turns the tide of a race in ways that Heat simply can’t do. I also love the way that there are myriads of ways to thin your deck, even specific hexes on the map. My 6 year old daughter and 8 year old son loved it as well as my wife. It’s a great family game and doesn’t come off as too competitive as you often are cheering everyone on as they get a good round and jump out ahead! Then you secretly plot how you are going to do the same haha! Overall, this is an amazing race game and I look forward to getting the expansion when it comes out for the new edition. And I’ll be getting rid of Heat since, for me, this replaces it in the lineup.

The Best Racing Board Game
This is the best racing game in the market today. Every turn is quick, interesting, and meaningful. The theme is fun and flavorful. The designer (Reiner Knizia) is a master who knows how to make games interactive, engaging, and simple to grasp. You really care about what everyone is doing. The rules are so light, that it allows you to really be present with the other players around the table. This is a perfect game for families and hobbyists alike. I’m dinging this a star for its awful packaging. The game shipped with zero shrink wrap. Instead, the box was held shut by four transparent stickers. The adhesive was so strong that it removing them either tears the box or leaves a grubby sticky imprint that attracts grime. Horrendous.

Fun game that's easy to learn
This is a fun deck-building game I played with my kids (7-12), and they had no trouble understanding it. You have an adventurer you lead over several types of terrain with the goal of reaching El Dorado first, and your movement is determined by the cards you draw. Some cards grant you credits toward buying new cards with different abilities, and the cards you purchase and add to your hand determine how each player plays the game, since the card types are limited. There are several different boards you can use, each requiring different adventurer skills to navigate through, so you can't win using the same tricks every time. A lot of fun, easy to learn for everyone, easy to set up, and plays in about 30 minutes or so.

Easily top 5
Saw this game on many lists of "best of all time", "what's one game you can play a hundred times and not get sick of", "favorite game to teach newcomers/new to board games", "easy to learn, surprisingly deep mechanics". This game fits all the metrics. Our family's new favorite. Thanks to the immense board variability which will affect which cards are advantageous, I can see us playing this for years and years.

Bel gioco per giocare in compagnia, a primo avviso sembra molto semplice, ma man mano che si scoprono le meccaniche del gioco, resenta un buon bilanciamento tra strategia e tattica. Un gioco longevo.

Great game. A 13 year old and 10 year old learned it in 15 mins and enjoyed their first game in an hour. Have come back to play three more games.

Returned due to printing errors: - Player boards in German (French/English edition) - Meeples all the same as for the previous Franz Vohwinkel editions and in contrast to pictures in the manual and on the back of the box. Not a dealbreaker but I also note that the card stock was quite poor. I’d suggest waiting until Ravensburger sorts out the errors with this print run.
